Mount Gambier Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Magnetic Chess
Magnetic Chess demonstrated plenty of ability in his three starts earlier this season, with two runner-up finishes among them.
Both of those second placings came on wet tracks, including on debut at Warrnambool in September, where he was beaten two-and-a-half lengths on a Soft 5 surface.
The gelding filled the same position at Hamilton the following month when stepping up to 1400m for the first time, racing on the speed and again beaten two-and-a-half lengths.
A fifth-place finish on Good going at Warrnambool followed before a spell, and he should be sharp following two trial efforts in the last month.
Tom Dabernig's representative boasts an inside alley and, dropping back in distance, the decision to scratch from a race at Casterton on Sunday in favour of this assignment can pay dividends.

Mount Gambier Value Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Tori's Dee
Tori's Dee ticks plenty of boxes here, including having demonstrated a liking for the forecast Heavy going in the past.
The gelding has won each of his last three starts, most recently in a 1200m Benchmark 0-62 handicap.
Facing just five rivals, the pick came home just under a length clear of his nearest challenger after racing on the speed on a Heavy 10 surface.
That success marked the grey's first attempt at this distance, having won over 1100m at both Stawell and Ararat prior to completing the hat-trick.
Apprentice Chelsea Thompson has built up a good rapport with the seven-year-old and is again set to partner the Jamie Edwards-trained sprinter, who maps well from an inside barrier and rates value to continue his winning run.

Mount Gambier Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 In That Mode
In That Mode arrives here in great form as the winner of two of his last three starts.
The first of those victories saw him come home more than three lengths clear of his nearest pursuer over this distance at Oakbank in April.
Racing on a Soft 5 surface, the gelding raced on the speed at Benchmark 0-54 level that day before backing it up with a victory over 1500m at Gawler.
The five-year-old finished strongly after racing prominently in that Gawler success before stepping up in both class and distance at Morphettville last time.
While unable to complete a hat-trick in that Benchmark 70 contest over 1800m, Luke O'Connor's gelding has been freshened since and, with the drop back in distance no issue, looks capable of returning to winning form with Jackson Murphy again aboard.

Mount Gambier Roughie - Race 8 No. 9 Johnny Cigar
Johnny Cigar is a proven performer at this venue, with his 11 course starts resulting in a win and six third-place finishes.
The gelding ended his last preparation with a fourth-place finish over 2000m at Naracoorte in November.
Sue Murphy's representative started at big odds that day and it was a similar story when returning to action here last month.
Racing on a Soft 7 surface, the gelding was ridden cold before finishing strongly to lose out by just over a length in a 1400m event, while the form of that contest has been boosted by the fourth horse home scoring impressively at Hamilton.
The step up in distance is a positive for the seven-year-old, with his most recent victory coming over 2000m at Naracoorte in August, and the son of Foxwedge boasts winning form on Heavy ground and may prove capable of surprising some better-fancied rivals.
