An obvious query is that he resumes without any public work; however, Deltason brings the best exposed form to this affair and, while racing against his own age group here, he probably has as much upside as anything in the field.
The only times he has been away from either Saturday metro level or Group company, he has won, which includes a big Ascot breakthrough in April last year.
His only try at Belmont came second-up in October when bolting in on a Soft track, following a return effort that was much better than it reads when completely unsuited over 1000m at Ascot.
The failure on November 22 before a spell came in a hot Group 2 WA Guineas over a mile, and Deltason should be much better placed working through lower grades in the 1200m-1400m range over winter.
The 3kg claim of Nakita Riordan is another positive after she rode a Saturday winner at Belmont on June 6 before posting a winning double at Kalgoorlie last Sunday.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 6 No. 6 I'm Odette
This Williams-trained filly has not had all favours in any of her three raceday appearances and, despite that, I'm Odette chases a winning hat-trick on Wednesday.
She overcame a sit-and-sprint affair from the box seat in her May 27 return and the extra 100m looks ideal second-up.
Her first campaign opened with an unlucky 1200m defeat on debut at Ascot before she covered ground in a brave Bunbury victory.
Four other winners have emerged from that January 7 event, and there's more to come from this three-year-old, with her May 18 trial suggesting she would improve from whatever was produced fresh.
William Pike stays aboard and "The Wizard" has started winter in superb touch with 11 winners and eight placegetters from 26 rides prior to this meeting, including bags of five at Pinjarra last Thursday and four at Belmont on Saturday.

Belmont Value Bet - Race 8 No. 12 Stylax
This son of Thorn Dancer was understandably at big odds for his April 2 resumption, having returned from a 14-month absence after failing to come up in the previous campaign.
The autumn return was better than it reads, with Stylax recording the fastest last 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m of the April 2 event.
The veteran was then a month between runs second-up and produced another solid performance when stepping to 1400m.
He was more respected in the market third-up over a mile at Pinjarra, where Stylax worked home with the second-fastest last 200m of the event, although he was still well held.
That performance should top him off nicely for this 1700m assignment, where he carries 2kg less than last start, while his last two metro victories were both at Belmont and each came in stronger company than this.
