The son of Tagaloa showed plenty of ability when debuting with a fourth-place finish on the main track here at the end of last month.

He raced widest of all before finishing strongly to lose out by just over one-and-a-half lengths in a 1200m maiden that day.

A change of tactics saw the gelding race closer to the speed prior to delivering an impressive victory by over four lengths at Strathalbyn subsequently.

The three-year-old justified short-priced favouritism when again racing over 1200m that day and is expected to appreciate the extra distance he tackles here.

With rain forecast and the possibility of a downgrade, it is worth noting he is out of a mare who won on wet surfaces, and Kayla Crowther retains the ride from a good inside barrier.

Morphettville Parks Roughie - Race 4 No. 7 Wild Winner

The four-year-old has shown good form this prep, registering a win and four further top-three finishes from seven starts.

The daughter of Highland Reel ran well when beaten less than two lengths in a 1600m Benchmark 78 on the main track here two starts ago.

While she did not shine in a similar event subsequently, she can be forgiven that performance.

Trained by Andrew Gluyas, the mare boasts a solid course record with a win and two thirds from three starts here.

Taylor Johnstone rides again and, with a drop in grade, she may surprise better-fancied rivals despite stepping to this distance for the first time.

Morphettville Parks Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Annihilate

The gelding has performed well in defeat in all three starts this prep, with two of those efforts coming at this venue.

Both resulted in third-place finishes, including when beaten two lengths in a Benchmark 72 handicap on his penultimate start.

The son of I Am Invincible raced over this course and distance that day and contested a similar event when narrowly beaten here two weeks ago.

Chris Bieg’s representative was ridden with restraint before finishing strongly off a light weight on that occasion.

He drops in grade here, similar tactics are expected from an inside barrier, and with Campbell Rawiller striking at 37.5% (3/8) for the stable in the past 12 months he looks well placed.

Morphettville Parks Value Bet - Race 8 No. 8 Over Yonder

The five-year-old returned to form when finishing a length second in a 1200m Benchmark 56 at Yarra Valley last month.

He was freshened and changed stables after that run before making his first appearance for Brendon Davis here two weeks ago.

The gelding won by over one-and-a-half lengths when dropped to this distance for a Benchmark 0-62 handicap on that occasion.

The form of that race was boosted at Balaklava last weekend when tenth-placed Starnova won.

The son of Overshare is expected to race on speed again, handles soft ground, and with Teagan Voorham retaining the ride from a good draw he looks ready to handle the rise in grade.
