A promising debut at Ballarat suggests Enticement could be ready to break through at her second career appearance, with the Matt Laurie-trained filly appearing well suited in Friday's 1612m maiden.

The daughter of Dundeel settled towards the rear over 1500m on October 9 before taking time to build momentum, eventually finishing strongly for fifth behind Millsy's Award, beaten less than two-and-a-half lengths.

That form has already received a boost through two subsequent winners, while Enticement recorded the strongest last-start benchmark figures of any runner in Friday's field, providing further encouragement for her chances.

Natural improvement is expected from the three-year-old with race experience now under her belt, and the slight rise in distance should suit given the way she finished off at Ballarat, particularly if she can settle a little closer to the speed.

Damien Thornton takes the ride from barrier six, and with several of her rivals bringing exposed but limited maiden form, Enticement appears to have greater upside than most and looks capable of making her presence felt at attractive odds.

A strong closing effort in a slowly run Ballarat maiden has All Eyes On Erin well placed to improve second-up, with the Thomas Carberry-trained filly bringing valuable race experience into Friday's 1112m assignment.

The daughter of Tagaloa resumed over 1000m on October 9, settling towards the rear from a wide barrier before producing the fastest sectionals between the 500m and 200m, eventually finishing second behind Miss Dividend.

The lack of early tempo played against her on that occasion, particularly with the winner enjoying a more favourable passage, while the filly also had to contend with an outside draw when finishing sixth on debut at Ballarat Synthetic in June.

Her latest performance suggests she has returned a more mature galloper, and the additional 112m should suit her finishing style, with the experience gained from those two starts potentially giving her an advantage over the promising debutants in this field.

Neil Farley takes the ride from barrier six, and although a few first-starters have trialled well, All Eyes On Erin looks capable of going one better if she can settle closer to the speed and reproduce her encouraging first-up finish.
