Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Galaxy Witness

Hugh Bowman and Caspar Fownes have combined for 15 winners this season at better than 16%, and the pair team up with Galaxy Witness.

Following a long layoff, the six-year-old has been competitive at Class 3 level this season and he's now back in grade to a Class 4 (unbeaten in this grade).

His Happy Valley outings this campaign have all been sound, with those runs coming either side of All-Weather attempts and that includes a last start fourth.

Galaxy Witness carried 60kg for a comfortable victory via his last Class 4 appearance, while a soft map here should also help offset the weight.

Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Incredible Moment

The March 23 debut was more than a pass mark for Incredible Moment and the Mark Newnham-trained galloper is open to natural improvement at start two.

He was respected in the market as a $4 chance ahead of that recent attempt, where the gelding was checked after becoming wayward in the straight.

The three-year-old had trialled well on multiple occasions leading into his first start, with his latest heat win at Sha Tin rating well for the March 27 set.

Incredible Moment does have a wide draw to overcome, however, he does have tactical speed and he's likely to roll forward under Luke Ferraris.

Nam Shan Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Excellence Value

This son of Fastnet Rock has been consistent in five runs following a flop on Hong Kong debut and he hasn't finished out of the money Happy Valley.

He's a very well-bred galloper, with Excellence Value coming from the same family as Ibn Khaldun, Brocade, Barathea and Gossamer (all Group 1 winners).

After saluting in his first try at Happy Valley, the four-year-old was a touch flat when third-of-twelve on March 19 and he was freshened-up as a result.

While he found one better on April 23, the first two cleared out in that 1800m contest, where Excellence Value put a 2.3-length margin on third.

Hoi Lai Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Happy Valley Roughie - Race 9 No. 5 Storming Dragon

You won't find many bad runs from Storming Dragon, with a 3.8-length margin his biggest loss and he still finished sixth-fourteen on that occasion.

After taking out a Class 4 on November 20, the Jamie Richards-trained galloper moved up to Class 3 level and he saluted in this grade on January 1.

Storming Dragon carried 55.5kg in that Sha Tin triumph (has 56kg here) and despite three attempts at 1400m, he appears more effective over 1200m.

Following a fourth-of-nine finish when right in the market as a $3.10 chance, he was doing his best work late last time out when midfield over this track/trip.
