Australia vs Sri Lanka ODI Preview: Squads and how to watch and stream

The Australians are coming into the series against Sri Lanka high on confidence with both sides of their game flourishing in the two-game test series where they swept the home team convincingly in Galle.

Aussie skipper Pat Cummins is sitting out the Sri Lanka tour as he welcomes his second child, plus he’s still dealing with an ankle injury. On top of that, pace bowler Josh Hazlewood is also out of both the series and the Champions Trophy due to a back injury he picked up during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

All-rounder Marcus Stoinis was initially named in the squad but has decided to call time on his ODI career. In response, fast bowlers Ben Dwarshuis and Spencer Johnson, along with top-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, have been brought in for the ODI series. To bolster the spin attack, leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha has also been added to the squad.

That said, Australia still hasn't named a captain for the ODI series or the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They're weighing up their options between Steve Smith and Travis Head, with an official announcement yet to come.
