North Melbourne will snap a seven-game losing streak when they host Richmond at Ninja Stadium in Hobart on Sunday.

The Kangaroos have shown patches of promise despite their struggles and went close against St Kilda a fortnight ago before being unable to match the firepower of GWS last weekend, going down by 54.

Richmond also come off a close loss to St Kilda, with four points separating those two in a low scoring affair at the MCG. The Tigers just shade the Kangaroos in 16th position on the ladder with a 5-16 win-loss record, while North are 4-16-1.

With key ball-winners like Harry Sheezel and Colby McKercher in strong touch and Cam Zurhaar continuing his dominance against the Tigers, North’s recent head-to-head record gives them a slight edge. They've won the past two against Richmond — including a four-point thriller in Round 10.

While North Melbourne have had plenty of trouble with a leaky defence, Richmond are averaging just 45 points per game across the last five rounds.

Their midfield group, led by Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper, can win plenty of footy but it hasn’t translated to scoreboard impact. Unless they can turn around their forward efficiency, this is North’s game to lose.

Back the Roos to get up, with value in Cam Zurhaar to kick 2+ goals, Harry Sheezel to rack up 30+ disposals, and Tim Taranto to also clear 25+ touches as the Tigers' most consistent contributor.

  • North have won the past two between the two sides.
  • Richmond have lost both matches against the Kangaroos at the venue
  • Cam Zurhaar has kicked 15 goals from his past four against North Melbourne.
  • Tim Taranto has had 25+ disposals in four of his past five against North Melbourne

Head to Head

North Melbourne have taken out the past two, including the Round 10 clash this season by four points. Cam Zurhaar booted four goals, while Tristan Xerri was dominant in the ruck. Tim Taranto, Jacob Hopper and Sam Banks all had 25+ disposals for Richmond.

Taranto has had 25+ in four of his past five against North Melbourne, while Dion Prestia has hit that mark in three of his past four. Luke Davies-Uniacke has averaged 32 disposals from his past four for the Kangaroos. Zurhaar has kicked 15 goals from his past four.
