No man has ever won five Masters 1000 titles on the trot, but after claiming the Paris title at the end of 2025 and securing Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo across the first quarter of 2026, Sinner is now just two wins away from achieving another extraordinary feat. With Carlos Alcaraz absent from the other side of the draw, you'd be a brave man betting against Sinner - not just in Madrid, but for the forseeable future in any tournament.
Fils will give it a red hot crack. The Frenchman has been on fire since returning from an eight-month break due to a back injury, winning 20 of his last 23 matches. However, four of Fils' five defeats in 2026 have come against top 10 players - while I have no doubt he joins that bracket sooner rather than later, he's still yet to really prove himself against the game's elite.
Sinner hasn't been supremely dominant this tournament, but he's still head and shoulders above everyone else. I don't see an absolute beatdown, but I also don't see Fils even taking a set. Somewhere in-between, so Sinner with Under 24.5 total games offers a tiny bit of value for me.

Sinner’s season began below expectations, falling short in the Australian Open semi-finals against Novak Djokovic before suffering a surprise loss to Jakub Mensik in the Doha quarter-finals.
Since then, the Italian has surged back to peak level, reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking from Carlos Alcaraz and establishing himself as the standout player on tour, particularly with the Spaniard managing a wrist injury.
Building on his Paris Masters triumph at the end of 2025, Sinner has put together a dominant run at Masters 1000 level, extending his winning streak to 25 matches with titles in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo.
Sinner has continued his dominance in Madrid, where he has advanced into the semi-finals for the first time.
It hasn't been entirely smooth sailing - Sinner dropped a set to Benjamin Bonzi in his opening match and after moving past Elmer Moller and Cameron Norrie, was challenged by teenage rising star Rafael Jodar in the quarter-finals.
Sinner was forced to save all five break points he faced to subdue the 19-year-old homegrown star, prevailing 6-2 7-6(0) for a 21st consecutive victory.
“He pushed me to the limit,” Sinner said. “He’s an incredible player. I tried to be ready as much as I could. But I’m incredibly happy.
"It was a very high quality match. I got a bit lucky in the second set, but also [had] a bit of experience. I’m obviously very happy to be in the semis here for the first time. It means a lot to me.”
