Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard vs Grigor Dimitrov Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - GMP to spoil Dimitrov's comeback

Dimitrov was playing some of the best tennis of his entire career when he led eventual champion Jannik Sinner by two sets in the fourth round of Wimbledon - but, tragedy struck and the Bulgarian suffered a serious pectoral injury, which has since sidelined him for the last four months. It was another cruel moment for Dimitrov, who has now been forced to retire from his last five Grand Slam appearances. It's somewhat strange to see Dimitrov return to action for one of the last tournaments of the year, but he obviously feels fit enough to compete.

It's not a bad first matchup back for Dimitrov - he won't have to engage in many extended rallies, but on the flip side, Mpetshi Perricard is one of the most lethal indoors players on tour with that enormous serve. The Frenchman has seen Over 25.5 games in all three of his previous Paris Masters matches and two tiebreaks or a three-setter wouldn't surprise me here. Dimitrov will have his chances, but I'm leaning with the match fitness of Mpetshi Perricard to sneak him through to the second round.

This will be the first career meeting between the pair.

Mpetshi Perricard comes into this contest with a negative 19-23 record at tour-level for the season and set to drop outside the world's top 50 when the next ATP rankings are released.

After a breakout year in 2024, Mpetshi Perricard struggled to back up that sort of form on tour throughout most of the season, but there's been some improvement lately.

Indeed, the Frenchman has made two ATP semi-finals in Winston Salem and Brussels over the last couple of months, beating Lorenzo Musetti in the latter, while he also conquered Taylor Fritz to reach the R16 in Shanghai.

Mpetshi Perricard couldn't repeat his magical run in Basel where he won the 500 title last year, falling in the opening round last week to eventual champion Joao Fonseca.

The 22-year-old made his Paris Masters debut last year, beating Frances Tiafoe in three sets before falling to Karen Khachanov in three.

Dimitrov heads into this encounter with a 17-11 record on the year, set to play his first tournament since retiring at Wimbledon in June.

It was a heartbreaking exit for Dimitrov, who looked well on track to upset Jannik Sinner to reach the quarter-finals, with the Bulgarian injuring his pectoral muscle and subsequently sidelined for the next four months.

The Bulgarian has been struck down by numerous injury problems over the last couple of years and will be hoping to get through this comeback match unscathed.

Dimitrov has an impressive 24-12 record at the Paris Masters, with his best result coming in 2023 when he made the final before going down to Novak Djokovic.
