De Minaur is currently seventh in the live ATP Race to Turin and is positioned strongly to lock in his spot for the season-ending finals. Even with an opening loss, the Aussie would still be favoured to qualify for the second straight year. De Minaur has played well at the Paris Masters in recent times, reaching the quarter-finals in each of the last two editions. Meanwhile, Diallo is enjoying a breakout season on tour, but he hasn't won back-to-back matches since claiming his maiden ATP title in s-Hertogenbosch during the grass swing, losing his last six matches against top 20 players.

De Minaur has made a habit of comprehensively beating those he's supposed to - indeed, 11 of his last 12 wins over opponents ranked outside the top 30 have been in straight sets (one exception vs Rinderknech, who has been in career-best form). Backing Demon to continue that trend against No. 42 ranked Diallo in Paris.

Head To Head

De Minaur leads 1-0, defeating Diallo 6-4 7-5 at the 2023 Canada Masters.

Alex de Minaur Form

De Minaur has registered a 53-20 record on the season, becoming one of just a handful of players to have racked up a half century of match wins.

Consistency has again been impressive from de Minaur - he secured his 10th career title in Washington, finished runner-up in Rotterdam and made more Grand Slam quarter-finals at the Australian Open and US Open, along with a semi-final finish at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Aussie is currently ranked No. 7 in the world and will be looking to feature at the ATP Finals for the second straight year after making his debut in 2024 but failing to win a match.

De Minaur would fancy his chances for a much better showing if he qualifies this time around - he's coming off a semi-final run in Vienna, where he lost for the 12th straight time to Jannik Sinner.

The 26-year-old has made the Paris Masters semi-finals in the last two years, going down to Andrey Rublev and Holger Rune.

Gabriel Diallo Form

Diallo has put together a nice breakout season, rising from No. 89 in the world in February to a career-high ranking of No. 33 (currently No. 42).

The Canadian has registered a 29-23 record on the year, with his highlight coming on the grass of s-Hertogenbosch, where he secured his maiden ATP title with a win over Zizou Bergs in the final.

Diallo has also performed well at some of the Masters 1000 events this year, reaching the quarter-finals of Madrid and the R16 in Shanghai.

However, consistency has been an issue lately for Diallo - he's failed to win back-to-back completed matches in his last 10 tournaments, coming off a 2-6 5-7 loss to Felix Auger-Aliassime in Basel last week.

Making his Paris Masters debut this week, Diallo took advantage of an unfit Tallon Griekspoor, posting a 6-3 6-4 victory.
