It's another blockbuster Original Rivalry showdown to launch A-League Round 19 as Melbourne Victory welcome Adelaide United to AAMI Park on Friday night.
Both teams come into this clash in great form. Adelaide are unbeaten in six of their last seven games and sit in fourth spot on the ladder, while Victory are one rung below after beating crosstown rivals Melbourne City 3-1 last week. The winner of this match would firmly establish themselves in the finals spots and give themselves an opportunity of a top two finish. Juan Mata has been in electric form for Victory all season and the midfield maestro will be a key figure once again, while young Reds striker Luka Jovanovic has been in red-hot form after returning from international duty.
I think Adelaide are good value in the Double Chance market. There was a time when it was taboo to back the Reds on the road, but they've gone unbeaten in their last four away games, winning three. Victory just don't do it for me around $1.60 in the H2H market - they are a class side, but still erratic, inconsistent and unreliable - see their draw with lowly Brisbane a couple of weeks ago. It was another Mata masterclass, with the Spanish veteran opening the scoring with a 40-metre screamer that is surely a goal-of-the-season contender before bagging his brace with another stunning effort from outside the box.

"Keepers have made fantastic saves on him. Yes, he’s given a great amount of assists, but I’ve been hoping, deep inside I’m thinking, ‘Come on, you’ve got to score more goals too because you’re worth it and you deserve it’.
“Tonight was beautiful to see that he was able to give an outstanding assist and score two amazing goals.“More importantly, he does his job within the team to work extremely hard.”
