Go Seymour Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Seymour Roughie - Race 1 No. 1 Genteel
He was specked at a price ahead of his debut appearance last winter and Genteel was fair in that Echuca attempt, where the son of So You Think grinded home for a fourth-of-twelve finish.
The four-year-old was freshened-up after a return flop at Geelong in December and with an encouraging Flemington jump-out completed on January 10, he was back to the races eight days later.
There was a market push in that most recent appearance at Camperdown and after a tough run, where Genteel covered ground over 1600m, he stuck on fairly well under the circumstances.
Seymour Club 3yo Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)
Seymour Value Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Jamesjohno
The early favs in Excelindeed and Markel both return gelded, however, a market push outside of those fancied runners wouldn't shock, with that pair just fair in that their recent lead-up work.
Antiquated, Gina's A Star and Jamesjohno are first starters who have shown promise, and the latter responded via his latest hit-out in a heat won by a speedy Shadhavar (Group 3 placed last Saturday).
While it was a quieter piece of work, the three-year-old moved nicely prior to that when contesting an 850m heat and Declan Bates was aboard there (he has this debut engagement).
Tallarook Sheds Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)
Seymour Best Bet - Race 4 No. 8 Transactions
This appears to be a very weak maiden and Transactions is bringing three short starting prices from his first campaign, with those early season performances all coming in field that some quality.
A half-brother to Espiona (Group 1 winner), Transactions disappointed at Moe via his last showing and as a result, connections have opted to geld the son of Capitalist ahead of his second prep.
He hasn't been knocked about in two summer jump-out's, although his late work at Cranbourne on February 3 was quite strong and an in-form Blake Shinn takes the reins.
Lindsay Park BM70 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Seymour Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 8 Le Mans
European imports often improve in their second Australian preps once they acclimatize and this five-year-old was mostly competitive in her first campaign for the Price & Kent (Jnr) stable.
Le Mans was looking for the paddock when attempting a 2000m Caulfield BM78 on October 16, where she was a beaten fav and the mare was single figure odds in all of her Melbourne appearances.
The pick of her early season efforts was arguably the fresh run this distance at Caulfield and off two solid workouts in January, she does look well placed resuming in a country BM70.
