Global Turf Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Ballarat Synthetic Best Bet - Race 1 No. 4 King's Anchor
The McEvoy stable always demands respect on its home circuit, whether racing on turf or the synthetic surface.
Their 15 starters on the Ballarat Synthetic this season have produced seven winners and four placegetters, and they are represented here by the Yulong-owned King's Anchor.
The three-year-old was beaten just over two lengths as a favourite on debut before a spell in a strong Kilmore maiden won by Pavlich, who subsequently won his final two starts of the campaign, including the Mornington Guineas.
Fresh over 1300m on May 13, King's Anchor recorded the race-fastest closing sectionals when runner-up to Harbour Town, who has since been competitive twice at metropolitan level and scored at Sale on June 10.
Although beaten as favourite at Swan Hill last start, that effort suggested the rise in distance would suit third-up, something his breeding also supports, while he also beat home two subsequent winners in that June 7 contest.

Ballarat Synthetic Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Dynamite Dancer
Dynamite Dancer makes his first appearance for trainer Matthew Williams and looks well prepared to perform fresh.
The gelding won two autumn jump-outs before finishing second in a Ballarat Synthetic trial over 1100m on June 18.
He was not knocked about in that latest hit-out under John Allen, who retains the ride and boasts a 22% career strike-rate on the Ballarat Synthetic.
The son of Pierata showed ability during his first preparation, attracting strong support on debut when finishing third despite racing greenly and being slow away.
After a freshen-up, he atoned in style with a two-and-a-half-length maiden victory at Horsham on December 21, and from barrier one in a small field, Dynamite Dancer looks capable of making a winning stable debut.
Manhari Maiden Plate Tips (Race 5)
Ballarat Synthetic Value Bet - Race 5 No. 9 Elegant Force
The stable debut for local trainer Melody Cunningham can be forgiven, with Elegant Force attracting support at long odds in a Ballarat turf event on June 12.
The daughter of Brutal likely did not handle the testing conditions and also slipped at the start.
Despite those setbacks, she was not disgraced given she dropped back to 1200m and was on the fresh side after previously racing over further for Kris Lees.
It is also worth noting that her Ballarat Synthetic jump-out earlier this month was better than it appears on paper, with the three-year-old travelling under a hold throughout and working through the line strongly.
She also recorded a hat-trick of placings during March and April and, in what looks a weak maiden over a more suitable distance, Elegant Force is capable of sharp improvement second-up in Victoria.
