Bendigo Tips July 13

Bendigo Magazine 3yo BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Bendigo Value Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Warparty

Shane Nichols’ horses have been running well in the main of late and Warparty is his sole runner on Sunday's Bendigo meeting.

The son of Hellbent dropped back to 1200m when returning from a spell to deliver the second win of his career when saluting at Mornington in May.

He won by a narrow margin when jumping from next to the rail in a Benchmark 0-62 handicap held on good ground that day.

The youngster went on to place third when beaten less than a length over the same distance at Pakenham at the end of May.

Zac Spain, set to ride here, was on board for both of those efforts and wet ground should be no issue, with his mount having won on a heavy surface in the past.

Warparty could finish only sixth over 1200m at Echuca last time out, however, he jumped from a wide alley that day and better is expected from barrier seven.

Bendigo Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Jennyanydots

The daughter of Magnus is a dual winner from six starts, which includes a comfortable Soft 7 success.

That wet track success saw the mare come home nearly two lengths clear of her rivals in an 1100m maiden at Moe in October.

Jennyanydots went on to salute in a metro Class 1 contest when racing over 1000m on the Heath course at Caulfield two starts later.

She was spelled following a close second in a small field Benchmark 70 handicap event at Mornington in January.

The four-year-old trialled well ahead of her return to action and she delivered a solid effort when narrowly beaten over 1000m at Sandown last month.

She jumped raced from mid-division prior to losing out by a nose that day and Jennyanydots has recorded a jump-out victory at Kerang since that effort.

Bendigo Roughie - Race 8 No. 4 Cocobill

The New Zealand-bred gelding is a dual winner from eight starts, with his most recent victory coming over 1600m at Cranbourne in April.

Cocobill came home just under half-a-length clear of his nearest rival in a Benchmark 0-64 handicap held on good going that day.

The three-year-old has shown that he handles softer conditions in the past, including when fourth over 1500m on a Heavy 8 track here last time out.

He was beaten just over two-and-a-half-lengths when racing over 1500m and he isn’t expected to have any issues on a forecast Heavy 10 surface.

The gelding is a versatile type with regard to tactics and a patient ride looks likely, as he's drawn wide for a drop in distance.

Jockey John Allen has ridden the son of Vadamos three times in the past and his mount may prove up to delivering a surprise victory.

Bendigo Next Best Bet - Race 10 No. 14 Kira

The daughter of Lonhro broke through for her first victory when successful by a narrow margin at Kyneton in December.

Kira raced on good going that day and she has gone on to deliver top three finishes in all five subsequent starts.

Two of those efforts have come this prep, including when beaten two lengths into second in a Benchmark 64 handicap at Mornington last month.

She jumped from a wide barrier when contesting a 1200m event on that occasion and that winner (La Fracas) has gone on to salute at Sandown subsequently.

The four-year-old met with trouble in running on that occasion and she shapes as if she is worth another try over this distance.

Anthony & Sam Freedman’s has a wide barrier, but she's a versatile type with regard to tactics and Kira is taken to register a victory under Jye McNeil.
