Bathurst Value Bet - Race 1 No. 5 Carisbrooke Queen
There was more promise in Carisbrooke Queen's latest effort at Mudgee than the bare result suggests, despite the mare finishing well held in both starts to date.
Making her debut for trainer Derek Piper, she was away cleanly and settled just off the speed in fifth before finishing sixth over 1100m.
Beaten just under eight-and-a-half lengths, the five-year-old had also produced some solid trial efforts before making her first appearance of 2026.
She looked one-paced on the Heavy surface that day, but the rise in distance should suit on breeding, with the daughter of Camelot likely to appreciate getting over further.
Her previous 1600m run at Goulburn can be forgiven after the ground was reportedly too quick, and with less exposure than most of these, Carisbrooke Queen rates as a value chance in the opener.

Bathurst Best Bet - Race 4 No. 2 Diamond Frost
Diamond Frost has shown up well through four starts this preparation, recording two wins including a Benchmark 58 victory at Nowra two runs ago.
Racing over 1400m on that occasion, the gelding overcame a wide barrier and held on narrowly, with the Soft ground appearing to suit.
That was his first turf victory after previously scoring twice on the Canberra Acton synthetic surface, confirming he can be effective across different conditions.
The son of Frosted again drew wide when finishing fifth over 1210m at Moruya last time, where he was ridden with restraint and may have found the shorter trip against him.
The return to 1400m is a clear positive, while barrier two and suitable underfoot conditions give Glenn Cahill every chance to have Diamond Frost recording his third win of the year.

Bathurst Feature Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Voracious
A regular in country Cup races this year, Voracious recorded his third Cup victory of 2026 when taking out the Forbes Cup over 1600m three starts ago.
Ridden from midfield on that occasion, the six-year-old finished strongly to score narrowly on a Good surface.
He has been held in two subsequent appearances, but there were excuses at Canterbury after meeting trouble in running, while his latest Moree Cup effort was better than the bare result suggests.
Voracious has won on both Good and Soft ground, so any improvement in the track rating would be no issue, while his Forbes Cup run suggested another attempt at this distance is worth pursuing.
Mack Griffith has enjoyed a strong record at Bathurst throughout 2026, and Voracious looks capable of adding another feature success to the stable's tally.
The Panorama Tips (Race 6)
Bathurst Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 11 Cando Attitude
A winner of four of seven starts, Cando Attitude has shown plenty of ability in her short career, including a Heavy-track victory at Nowra in February.
She followed that with a runner-up finish at Listed level in Canberra before resuming in metropolitan Benchmark 72 company at Canterbury last month.
The mare settled off the speed over 1250m on a Soft surface before finishing last of 10, beaten six lengths, although she may not have appreciated the tongue tie applied that day.
She is entitled to improve sharply from that first-up run, particularly given her strong second-up profile and an impressive Canterbury trial earlier this month.
Claire Ramsbotham knows the four-year-old well, and with a dry forecast plus the possibility of a track upgrade, Cando Attitude gets a suitable setup to return to her best.
