Several runners arrive with solid juvenile form behind them, while others are looking to build on encouraging first-up performances as they progress towards bigger spring targets.

2026 Run To The Rose Best Bet - Under Focus
One of the more underrated colts in this field could be Under Focus, who was well supported at a big price when resuming in the Listed Rosebud on August 15.
The Kris Lees-trained colt was ridden cold from a wide draw and got home strongly over 1100m, producing some of the better closing work in a race that looked short of his best trip.
He has since been kept up to the mark with an August 31 trial, where he was given an easy time in second behind Skyhook, who had won two of his previous three starts at Group level before a spell.
There was also plenty to like about his first campaign, with Under Focus finishing runner-up on debut as the pick of the on-speed brigade in a maiden won by The Next Episode, before breaking through at Randwick-Kensington and later contesting the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes.
With the first-up run under his belt, a tick-over trial since and a kinder draw this time around, Under Focus gets a much better setup and appeals at an each-way quote.
2026 Run To The Rose Value Bet - Central Europe
The market drift was notable when Central Europe resumed in the Rosebud, and there was enough in that run to suggest the extra distance here will suit.
After overracing through the early and middle stages from a midfield position, the son of Frankel found the sharp 1100m test against him when the sprint went on, but picked up again late.
Both starts in his first campaign came over 1200m, beginning with an unlucky narrow defeat to subsequent Group 1 winner Campione D'Italia before he started $2.20 favourite and finished third behind Warwoven in the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes.
He looked one-paced late in that second juvenile run, but in hindsight may simply have been looking for the paddock, with plenty of time subsequently given to him ahead of the spring.
Central Europe profiles as the type who could progress through the Golden Rose over 1400m and potentially even be freshened for a Coolmore Stud Stakes tilt, while an in-form Zac Lloyd takes the reins.
2026 Run To The Rose Roughie - Revengeance
There is a strong case that Revengeance simply needed his first-up run after missing the entire autumn and returning from almost 10 months off in the San Domenico Stakes.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained colt raced twice as an early juvenile, placing in the Group 3 Breeders' Plate before winning the Golden Gift at Rosehill on November 8.
He weakened late when resuming in the San Domenico on August 29, with the long break and lack of recent racing likely telling once the pressure went on in a fast-run race.
There was significant improvement from start one to start two during his first preparation, and he now gets the benefit of race fitness along with barrier one to help him settle close to the speed.
It remains to be seen where he sits against the better three-year-olds, but with every chance to land on the speed from a low draw, Revengeance looks capable of producing a much sharper second-up performance at a big price.
