- Marnus Labuschagne Over 31.5 1st Innings Runs - Labuschagne averages 51 at the Gabba and 63 in pink-ball Tests. He’s enjoyed a superb resurgence in 2025 and has four centuries under the lights. He supported Head brilliantly with a composed 50 in the 1st Test run chase and looks primed for a massive game here
- Joe Root Under 30.5 1st Innings Runs - Root had a horror start to the Ashes, copping an opening duck and responding with just eight. Root has scored 21 runs or less in seven of his last nine innings against the Aussies - he struggles down under and early indications are that he’s in for a tough time again. He’s also managed just 14 runs or less in two of his last three day/night innings
- Ben Duckett Over 24.5 1st Innings Runs - Didn’t mind what I saw from Duckett in the 1st Test - he scored 21 & 28, laying a decent foundation both innings before failing to go on with it. It’s a solid springboard though - he had scored 94, 43 & 54 in his previous three Test innings before the Ashes, while he’s also struck 84 & 25 runs in his only two previous day/night innings. He can cover here
- Steve Smith Over 37.5 1st Innings Runs - Got faith in Smithy. He’s averaged just under 56 runs in his Test career vs England and around the same over his Test career in Australia. He’s due a big score after a quiet opening Test and can lift for this one
