Kyneton Tips October 20
Best Bet
Race 3 No. 8 Bourne Legacy
Bourne Legacy demonstrated ability during his two-year-old season, including a fifth-place finish on debut in metropolitan company at Caulfield Heath in May, before producing his best performance from three appearances when runner-up at Moe in June.
The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained gelding was beaten just under one-and-a-half lengths over 1208m on a Heavy surface, producing a strong effort after being forced to overcome a wide barrier.
Spelled following that initial campaign, the three-year-old has returned in encouraging order with two Cranbourne jump-outs, following a victory in the first with a runner-up finish in his latest hit-out.
The blinkers worn at Moe have been removed for Tuesday's assignment, and although all three previous race-day appearances came on rain-affected ground, there is little reason to suggest the forecast Good surface will pose a problem.
Barrier seven provides Bourne Legacy with a reasonable starting position, and with the gelding expected to have benefited from his earlier racing experience and John Allen taking the ride, he looks capable of breaking through at his fourth attempt.
Market Mover
Race 5 No. 6 Manchego
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Manchego has attracted significant market support ahead of Tuesday's fifth race, with the gelding returning from a freshen-up following an impressive two-length victory at Echuca last month.
Already a winner at Kyneton, Manchego opened at $2.40 with Unibet Australia before firming into $1.95 favouritism, suggesting punters are expecting another strong performance from the progressive galloper.
Stats Say
Trainer Ben Brisbourne and jockey Lachlan King boast an impressive 75% strike rate when combining at Kyneton in 2026, producing three winners from four runners.
With Titan Of Choice out of the sixth race, the pair have two representatives on Tuesday, beginning with Rattle'n'roll in Race 5, a previous winner at Kyneton in December, before teaming up with The Quiet Immortal in Race 7, who finished third at Warrnambool earlier this month.
