Round 16 of the 2026 AFL season features several major selection calls, with Sydney regaining Errol Gulden and Tom McCartin for a blockbuster clash with Brisbane, while Hawthorn is forced into multiple changes ahead of its meeting with GWS.

Carlton remains unchanged despite Jacob Weitering failing to prove his fitness, Fremantle has recalled Sean Darcy in a significant ruck reshuffle, and Port Adelaide has swung the axe ahead of Saturday night's Showdown against Adelaide.

Brisbane: Ryan Lester returns after a month out with a calf injury, replacing omitted defender Shadeau Brain.

Sydney: Errol Gulden makes his long-awaited return from a shoulder injury alongside Tom McCartin and Peter Ladhams. Matt Roberts, Harry Kyle and Hayden McLean have all been omitted.
