Blockx has already secured his spot in the semi-finals in his debut appearance at the Next Gen ATP Finals, but the Belgian will be determined to maintain his winning momentum - and potentially in the process eliminate his third seeded opponent. Prizmic will know when he steps on court if he has a chance at joining Blockx in the final four - the Croatian needs Nishesh Basavareddy to lose against Justin Engel in the first match on Friday for a chance to progress from the Red Group after falling to the American in four sets on Wednesday.

For me, Prizmic doesn't look entirely comfortable on these quick courts. He was flat against Basavareddy and while he claimed a four-set win over Engel on Thursday, he still wasn't entirely convincing. Blockx meanwhile has been on fire, beating Engel in four sets before toppling Basavareddy in straights - the only straight sets win by any player this tournament. Another straight sets win is unlikely - six of the eight matches have been decided in four this event, so Blockx with Over 23.5 total games (possibly in four) is the play for this clash.

Prizmic leads 2-0, winning their Boys singles match at Roland Garros 2022 in straights before a dominant 6-3 6-2 triumph at the Lugano Challenger earlier this year.

Blockx demonstrated great poise under pressure against Basavareddy on Thursday - the Belgian knew he needed a straight sets win in order to confirm his place in the semi-finals and he promptly saved three set points in the second set tiebreak to emerge victorious.

The 20-year-old has been on fire this tournament, firing down 17 aces against Engel in his opening match before striking 24 winners against Basavareddy to become the first Belgian to make the Next Gen ATP Finals semis.

Blockx began the year outside the top 200 but surged up the rankings, coming within a whisker of the top 100 after peaking at No. 101 before finishing the season at No. 116.

The Belgian captured two Challenger titles in 2025, including a strong season-ending run in Bratislava where he defeated top-100 players Raphael Collignon and Jan-Lennard Struff. He also notched the first Masters 1000 victory of his career in Cincinnati, further signalling his growing potential at the highest level.

Prizmic could be left to rue the second set tiebreak of his opening match against Basavareddy, where he led all through the breaker and blew three set points. Although he bounced back to win the third set, the Croatian succumbed in the fourth and that H2H record could be the deciding factor on who progresses from the Red Group.

The 20-year-old raised his level to withstand a barrage of forehands from Engel on Thursday, closing out a four-set win - but he must rely on the German beating Basavareddy in the first match on Friday if he is to stand a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

But, overall, it's been a good season for Prizmic - he's still been battling injury issues, but improved his ranking from outside the top 300 to on the brink of the top 100, making five Challenger finals and winning two titles.
