The Wanderers are backed to make it back-to-back victories this week after edging out Perth Glory 2-1 on Tuesday. Central Coast have struggled all season with just three wins and are coming off a 4-1 defeat to Sydney in their last outing. Both teams have scored in all but one of Western Sydney's games this term, so another open affair is expected at CommBank, but it's the hosts who are in superior form and should secure another three points on Friday.

  • Wanderers are unbeaten in six of their last seven games
  • Wanderers have beaten the likes of league leaders City & Adelaide in that run
  • Mariners have won just three of their 12 league games this term
  • Wanderers have seen BTTS land in 11 of their 12 games this season
  • Mariners have seen BTTS land in their last five games
  • Nicolas Milanovic has scored six goals this season

Head To Head

The Wanderers have only won one of the last eight meetings between the two teams, with the Mariners prevailing by 1-0 scores in the last two encounters.

Western Sydney Wanderers Form

It was a slow start to the season for the Wanderers, but they're beginning to find their groove heading into Round 15 and the second-half of the campaign.

Indeed, the Wanderers are unbeaten in six of their last seven games, defeating league leaders Melbourne City and Adelaide United during that period.

Western Sydney do have a quick turnaround for this game though, with Alen Stajcic's side defeating Perth Glory 2-1 away on Tuesday night.

Zac Sapsford's strike in the 59th minute proved the difference as the Wanderers moved to within two points of the top six.

Stajcic could choose to rotate his team after only a couple of days rest from the Perth win, with Gabriel Cleur and Jeong Tae-Wook both listed as questionable.

Central Coast Mariners Form

It was always going to be extremely difficult for the Mariners to back up their two Grand Final triumphs on the bounce, but they are in real danger of missing out on the finals altogether this term.

The Mariners have only managed three wins from their 12 A-League games and head into this encounter six points adrift of the finals positions.

A club like Central Coast is never going to be consistently at the top with player turnover unavoidable with the success they've achieved, but fans will be disappointed if they don't feature in the finals and give themselves a chance of defending their premiership.

The Mariners are coming off a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Sydney FC in their last game, which undid some good results in their previous two outings (3-1 win over Brisbane and 1-1 draw with City).

Central Coast Mariners Team News

Ryan Edmunson and Lucas Mauragis both missed the loss to Sydney and are racing the clock to be fit for this clash.

Verdict

The Wanderers have improved since the start of the season and are unbeaten in six of their last seven games, while the Mariners haven't got going at any stage, coming off a 4-1 defeat to Sydney in their last outing.

Backing the Wanderers to prevail at home, but they've only kept one clean sheet all season, so good chance for the Mariners to find the back of the net.
