It's been a nightmare campaign for Brisbane and things aren't expected to get any better for them here. The Roar are in the midst of their worst ever start to a season, failing to win any of their 12 games and losing 10. Having failed to score in four of their last five defeats, Sydney are backed to keep a clean sheet in victory, with the Sky Blues winning to nil in two of their last three triumphs. Patryk Klimala is our choice for first goalscorer, with the Polish striker relishing the chance to come up against the league's bottom side.
- Sydney have won their last three home games
- Roar have lost 10 of their 12 games this season
- Roar haven't defeated Sydney away in the league since 2018

- Patryk Klimala has scored five goals this season
Head To Head
Brisbane haven't beaten Sydney away in the A-League since 2018. Sydney prevailed in a 3-2 thriller in the last meeting between the teams back in Round 3 at Suncorp.
Sydney FC Form
It was a slow start to the A-League season for Sydney as they juggled Asian Champions League commitments and a hectic travel schedule, but they've settled down and head into this showdown unbeaten in their last six games.
However, despite a good run of form, Sydney will still feel like they've missed an opportunity to gain ground on those teams at the top of the table, drawing 2-2 and 0-0 with struggling Newcastle Jets and Wellington Phoenix in that period.
Ufuk Talay's side were left frustrated in that mid-week stalemate across the ditch against Phoenix on Wednesday, but Sydney will still be confident following big 3-0 and 4-1 victories at home over Perth Glory and Central Coast Mariners in their previous two outings.
Sydney FC Team News
Talay might opt to rotate some players after a quick turnaround from their draw with Wellington on Wednesday, with Douglas Costa still out with a hamstring injury and Aleksandar Popovic in doubt.
Brisbane Roar Form
The Roar are in absolutely horrendous form and it's amazing that Ruben Zadkovich still has a job, with managers sacked for much less in this competition.
Six points adrift at the bottom of the ladder, Brisbane have lost 10 of their 12 games this season, including their last five on the bounce against Perth, Central Coast, Western United, Newcastle and Melbourne City.
Obviously Brisbane aren't expected to challenge the top teams, but defeats against the likes of the Jets and Glory - even the Mariners on current form - is extremely poor.
Having failed to score in four of their last five defeats, it's looking like another long 90 minutes for Roar fans on Saturday.
Brisbane Roar Team News
It remains to be seen if Thomas Waddingham features here, with reports suggesting the 19-year-old striker has agreed a deal to sign with English Championship side Portsmouth.
Verdict
The Roar are in shambles and are set for their 11th defeat of the season here. Even in much better times, Brisbane haven't defeated Sydney on the road in the A-League in seven years.
Sydney have won three straight at Allianz and their defence has tightened up lately - backing the hosts to produce a shut-out victory at home, with Patryk Klimala opening the scoring.
