Sydney meanwhile have experienced an up-and-down campaign and they are struggling at the moment, coming into this encounter on a three-game winless streak - including suffering back-to-back defeats. It was looking like Sydney had finally clicked into gear, but things have suddenly changed again and now the heavyweight club are once again languishing outside the top six.

Sydney head into this showdown on the back of a three-game winless streak, including an embarrassing 4-3 defeat at home against last-placed Brisbane Roar, who were previously winless for the season.

Things didn't get any better last week, with Sydney going down 2-0 against Melbourne Victory, one month after beating them 3-0.

The Reds have won three of their last four games overall, defeating Macarthur (2-1), Wellington (2-1) and Melbourne Victory (3-2) before last week's 2-2 draw against Auckland in a top-of-the-table clash.
