Perth Glory is set to host Adelaide United in an exciting A-League Round 9 clash at HBF Park. Both teams are looking to recover from recent defeats, with Perth experiencing a resurgence under coach Adam Griffiths and Adelaide struggling with their away form. Perth has shown impressive results recently, notching three wins out of four, while Adelaide has yet to win on the road this season. Despite their struggles away from home, Adelaide has managed to score in each of these losses. Expectedly, Perth, capitalizing on home advantage, is favored to secure a win.

Perth Glory vs Adelaide United Tips & Prediction

Perth Glory and Adelaide United will each be looking to bounce back from last-start defeats when they square off in A-League Round 9 on Saturday night at HBF Park.

Glory saw their three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of leaders Sydney FC, while Adelaide's poor run of form continued with a third consecutive loss against last-placed Melbourne Victory. Adelaide's away form has been a big issue for a long time now and they head into this clash winless in their last 13 outings on the road, losing all four away games this season. Perth meanwhile have enjoyed a surprise resurgence under the tutelage of new permanent head coach Adam Griffiths and will view this fixture as a great chance to return to the winners circle and cement their top six status heading into Christmas.

You just can't back Adelaide on the road. They've been awful away from Coopers for a sustained period now, while they continue to be peppered - goalkeeper Joshua Smits has been forced into a league-high 34 saves across the opening eight rounds. Glory should get their chances and I'm backing the hosts to take all three points, with both teams finding the back of the net.

Head To Head

Glory went unbeaten against Adelaide in their two games last season, drawing 2-2 at Coopers before a dominant 4-1 triumph at home in Round 26, with Jaylan Pearman's second-half double sealing the big win.

Perth Glory Form Analysis

It was looking like another long, nightmare season for Glory fans after going winless across their opening four games.

David Zdrillic received his marching orders and Adam Griffiths' arrival has sparked a surprising change of fortunes, with Perth winning three of their four games since the former Adelaide defender took over.

Glory upset Newcastle and Macarthur on the road before grinding out a 1-0 win over the Wanderers at home.

However, Perth couldn't make it four wins on the trot, losing narrowly to competition leaders Sydney FC last week after conceding in the fifth minute and failing to make a breakthrough.

Adelaide United Form Analysis

If the entire A-League season was played at Coopers, then Adelaide would be the overwhelming favourites for the premiership.

Unfortunately for the Reds, they must - like every other side - play half of their games on the road and it's proving a constant obstacle they fail to overcome.

Going 13 consecutive games on the road without a victory is hugely problematic, including all four so far this season against Macarthur, Auckland, Wellington and Victory.

Amazingly, Adelaide are still clinging onto a top six spot courtesy of their home form, but they were outclassed 2-1 by bottom-placed Victory at AAMI Park last week, with Dylan Pierias grabbing a consolation goal in the 86th minute.

Verdict

Perth have been in great form with three wins in their last four games, losing only to leaders Sydney, while Adelaide have lost all of their away games this season.

The Reds have managed to score in all four of those road defeats, but they can't be backed away from Coopers - Perth to prevail.
