Golden Slipper 2026 - Barrier Draw & Final Field
The 2026 Golden Slipper race is shaping up to be highly competitive with several promising contenders. Highlights include Paradoxium's recent victories, solidifying its status as a front-runner, and Warwoven's impressive performance following a prior setback. Meanwhile, Chayan's notable improvement and Streisand's consistency underscore their potential. The Golden Slipper, held at Rosehill Gardens, offers rich history as a premier event in juvenile racing, boasting substantial prize money and a tradition of showcasing future champions.

Spelled following a strong victory in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic, Paradoxium (barrier 18) confirmed his Golden Slipper credentials with an all-the-way win in the Todman Stakes at Randwick on March 7.
The Bjorn Baker-trained colt arrived there off a sharp trial win at Rosehill and still appears to have upside heading deeper into the autumn with only one start this year.
Chayan (barrier 12) also enhanced her standing among the leading contenders with victory in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes on the same Randwick program.
The filly had finished seventh-of-16 in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes prior to that success but showed strong improvement in Sydney, comfortably accounting for Agrarian Girl (barrier 20), a Listed winner on debut over Spicy Miss (barrier 5), the subsequent Sweet Embrace Stakes winner.
Warwoven (barrier 14) further strengthened his claims with a strong performance to win the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes on March 14.
The colt had earlier been sensationally scratched by veterinarians from the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast before returning with a solid fourth of 10 in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes on February 28 and progressing further in the Pago Pago.
In a season where no clear standout has emerged among the Sydney two-year-olds, Streisand (barrier 11) brings strong Victorian form into the race after winning her past two starts, including the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes on February 21.
Blue Diamond runners Closer To Free (barrier 17) and Guest House (barrier 10) also enter the Golden Slipper picture after filling the placings behind Streisand in that Melbourne feature.
A Victorian youngster who has already proven competitive in Sydney is Stretan Ruler (barrier 13), who bolted in to win the Silver Slipper before finishing second behind Paradoxium in the Todman Stakes.
Pembrey (barrier 19) also pressed her claims with victory in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes last Saturday.
The Queensland filly had earlier bolted in on debut at Eagle Farm before suffering an unlucky defeat in her Sydney debut on February 28.

Golden Slipper Winners
The Golden Slipper stands as Australia’s premier race for two-year-olds and remains one of the most important juvenile contests in world racing.
Run over 1200m at Rosehill Gardens, the race carries $5 million in prize money and traditionally headlines one of the biggest days on the Australian racing calendar, with five Group 1 events contested on the same program.
Since its inception, the Golden Slipper has been won by many of the sport’s most talented juveniles, with a number of those champions going on to successful careers at stud or lengthy and distinguished racing campaigns.
Gai Waterhouse remains the most successful trainer in the race’s history with seven victories, including her first partnership success with Adrian Bott when Farnan won the 2020 edition.
Among jockeys, Shane Dye and Ron Quinton share the record with four Golden Slipper wins each.
Recent winners of the race include Shinzo in 2023, Lady Of Camelot in 2024 and Marhoona in 2025.
