Nominations Revealed for the 2026 Caulfield Cup

A deep collection of established Group 1 performers, progressive stayers and international contenders features among the 124 nominations received for the 2026 Sportsbet Caulfield Cup.
The $6 million Group 1 will be staged over 2400m at Caulfield on Saturday, October 17, with the race celebrating its 150th running and carrying an increased prizemoney pool this year.
Chris Waller has assembled the largest representation of any stable with 18 nominations, headed by Aeliana, Autumn Boy, Buckaroo, Birdman, Soulcombe, Militarize and emerging four-year-old Ohope Wins.
Reigning Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner Half Yours, Sir Delius, Treasurethe Moment, Cosmic Crusader, Green Spaces, Yellow Jersey, King Pedro and She’s A Hustler are also among the prominent Australian-trained entries.
Ciaron Maher has 15 nominations including Middle Earth, Saint George, Royal Supremacy, King Of The Sea and Zahrann, while Joseph O’Brien has also entered 15 runners as he targets one of Australia’s premier staying contests.
O’Brien’s international team includes Aeronautic, Defiantly, Emit, Limestone, Omni Man and Tennessee Stud, while Aidan O’Brien has nominated Causeway.
Other notable European entries include Enfjaar for Roger Varian, Fantasy World, Mount Atlas and Tarriance for Andrew Balding, Tenability for William Haggas and Gaucher, Love Me Tender and Thread Of Gold for Willie Mullins.
Late nominations for the 2026 Caulfield Cup close at 12pm Melbourne time on Tuesday, September 8, with a fee of $6,500, before first declarations are taken at 12pm on Tuesday, September 22.
