Well-related Godolphin filly Sequinned opened her account at the first time of asking this preparation, scoring a maiden victory at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.

The Chris Waller-trained two-year-old, a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Bivouac, had two starts during January and February before racing manners proved costly at her second outing, prompting connections to send her for a spell.

Returning over 1100 metres, Sequinned made full use of the inside draw, settling behind the leading two pairs under Zac Lloyd before peeling into the clear at the top of the straight. She let down well and took control over the closing stages to score by 1.15 lengths.

The win continued a strong month for Lloyd, who has ridden 17 winners in July since returning from a short overseas stint. The in-form hoop also remains second in the Sydney Metropolitan Jockeys' Premiership.

Sequinned's breakthrough came as her older half-brother continues to build his reputation at stud.

Bivouac, who is from the same family as four-time Group 1 winner Guelph, celebrated his first Group 1 winner this season when Beiwacht led throughout to dominate the Golden Rose in fast time last September before adding the All Aged Stakes in the autumn.

Fireball Miss added to his Group 1 tally when claiming the Queensland Oaks in June, while Big Sky and Cellarmaster have also landed Group 3 victories this year in what has been Bivouac's most notable season since retiring to stud.
