Official track reports for Saturday, August 1, 2026, show generally favorable racing conditions across five major racecourses: Flemington and Rosehill are rated Good 4, Belmont and Doomben are Soft 5, and Morphettville Parks is Soft 7. Track managers note repairs and preparation are on track for upcoming festivals, with neutral to mixed winning patterns expected. Official Track Manager Comments

The track’s currently a Good 4, with the rail in the 10m position and a Going Stick of 9.3.

We looked at last year’s readings and it’s actually very similar to last year in terms of the weather, rail position and Going Stick.

This is our normal implementation that we do throughout the year, so we’ve completed our renovation work on the inside 10m following the last meeting to get ready for the Spring Carnival.

After this meeting, we’ll have some jump-outs on the course proper on Monday and continue that preparation for the Spring Carnival.

The ground around the back circle is in really good condition because it hasn’t had any traffic over it.

There’s a little bit of wear off the fence from the previous six weeks of racing, but I think the inside-to-middle section is the better going.

The forecast is 16 degrees with a 14km/h north-easterly, which tends to be more of a tailwind down the straight.

I’d like to think it won’t affect the racing, though, and it should be a fine day for racing.

Official Track Manager Comments

After our track walk this morning—quite a cold morning we had—we’ve got our track at the Soft 5 rating (now Good 4).

We’ve pushed our rail out to the seven-metre position from the 800m to the winning post and then six metres for the remainder.

Last race meeting we had the rail in the four-metre position, so this rail move has pushed us outside the damage and given us a nice, even pad of grass to race on for Saturday.

We’ve certainly had some cold temperatures overnight and early morning.

We had a light frost this morning, but we’re heading for a nice day today, 18 to 19 degrees, and pretty similar tomorrow, with lots of sunshine and the same sort of temperatures.

Saturday’s forecast at this stage is looking mostly sunny, with a top temperature of 19 degrees and a very, very slight chance of a little bit of drizzle.
