Belmont Betting Tips for August 19, 2026 - Blue Sparx Ready to Light It Up
Belmont's August 19 program features eight races with the rail out 14m and a track likely rated Soft 6. Our top selections include Blue Sparx in Race 2 (the day's best bet), Solo Vega in Race 4, and Boussac as the value pick in Race 7. Blue Sparx boasts solid form and improved gear, Solo Vega drops in class and is suited by more distance, and Boussac is expected to bounce back at juicy odds. Bettors are advised to focus on these runners for a strong chance of returns.

Eight races will be contested on the August 19 Belmont program, where the rail is out 14 metres for the entire circuit.
While some showers are forecast on Wednesday morning, the track shouldn't get worse than the current Soft 6 rating.

Belmont Best Bet - Race 2 No. 10 Blue Sparx
At longer odds, there was decent money for Blue Sparx leading into his Bunbury debut, where the son of Manhattan Rain performed well with a third-of-12 finish.
The form from that July 15 event saw both winner Quedjinup and runner-up Western Splendour subsequently Saturday metro placed at Belmont, the latter finishing in the top three twice this month, including a runner-up finish last Saturday.
Off that promising first race-day appearance, the three-year-old was heavily backed again on July 29, this time into favouritism, and while green at stages in that Belmont attempt, it was another good run despite going down as favourite.
We've since seen Raw Umber frank that form with a big all-the-way win at Pinjarra last week, while winkers have been applied to sharpen the Brian Kersley-trained galloper up.
From a kinder draw and heading into Wednesday's assignment with more race-day experience under the belt, Blue Sparx looks well placed to break through under Lucy Fiore, who has ridden over 30 winners this winter, with a treble at last Thursday's Pinjarra meeting among the highlights.

Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Solo Vega
She only just missed at a big price first-up at Pinjarra on July 22, coming from well back as a narrow runner-up with the race's fastest closing sectionals.
Three subsequent winners have come from that provincial affair, while Solo Vega followed it with a fifth-of-12 finish at Belmont on August 5, where the four-year-old was back and held up at key stages before again getting warm late without threatening.
That effort indicated the rise in distance would suit third-up on Wednesday, and hopefully jockey Victoria Corver is able to have her closer in transit this time around and allow her to settle into a better rhythm early over the longer journey.
A debut winner over 1200m last spring, Solo Vegas's second campaign form through summer and early autumn does read mixed, although the three well-held performances all came at Stakes level, with a third-up placing behind Safedeel and Jazalot reading well for this grade.
She drops in company to a midweek Class 1 after contesting a Class 3 last start, where there was good money for the mare.

Belmont Value Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Boussac
This son of Ducimus resumed in a messy Class 3 at Belmont on August 5, and it is worth putting a line through that fresh failure, where Boussac was off the speed from a wide draw and, after being ridden for luck in the straight, the gaps never came.
The gelding struggled to find clear running for the majority of the home straight and was badly checked off heels near the 100m, forcing him right out of action late.
The six-year-old arrived there off a July 20 trial at Belmont, a 1000m heat that reads better than the sixth-of-seven result indicates, with the trip ultimately proving too sharp but Boussac was good past the line.
He was in decent touch over the back end of his last campaign, recording back-to-back Geraldton victories around the mile before another competitive performance when stretched to 1900m on January 23.
Boussac was well respected in the market throughout several Belmont and Ascot appearances last season, and while he could not get on the winner's board in those runs, the market had a habit of finding him, and he's a double-figure quote here.
