Yup, you read it right, the Panthers are last on the competition ladder, however, they are just 3 points away from Brisbane in eighth.
Look, I have it wrong like the rest of Australia, but the Panthers are still ranking well in a lot of key stats, which my nerd brain says should see them start winning games. They rank third in run metres, third in tackles inside 20m with an try to tackles inside 20 efficiency of 13.9 tackles, which is also ranked third along with another third ranking in territory.
The issue is defence, however, they are more mediocre than it being a catastrophe and don’t deserve to be on the bottom if you relate to their numbers. They are 9th in opposition run metres, and ninth in opposition possession, the biggest problem is being ranked thirteenth in opposition linebreaks which has resulted in being ranked 12th in opposition points.

Both in attack and in defence, those numbers look good, however, the competition has been poor. The knights have been the worst attacking side in the comp and Manly and Parramatta were both missing their halves, so does that result count?
I’m not sold on the Eels just yet is all I am saying or maybe I’m just sour cause they burnt me the two weeks prior.
