The Titans are in absolutely horrendous form coming into this encounter, losing six of their last seven games, with their only victory in that period coming over fellow battlers Newcastle. Gold Coast have the worst defence in the competition, conceding an average of 31 points per game - including 50 against the Cowboys and 40 each vs the Raiders and Bulldogs.
Now they come up against a Storm side desperate to find some consistency and who recently dropped 64 points in a daytime clash with the Tigers. Good luck, Des.
I'm backing the Storm to cover a small -5.5 line with Over 42.5 total points as the best bet at even money. I'm also keen on a couple of Anytime Tryscorers - namely Sualauvi Faalogo and Eliesa Katoa. The usual suspects for Melbourne are unsurprisingly short odds, but Faalogo is decent value as a winger - especially when you consider how vulnerable the Titans left flank has been all season. Katoa meanwhile is always dangerous on the edges and Gold Coast again have been guilty of leaking tries to second rowers consistently throughout the season.
- Storm have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the teams
- All of the Storm's wins this season have covered a -5.5 line
- All of the Titans' defeats this season have been by at least a converted try margin
- Nine of the Titans' 10 games this season have seen 43+ points
- Eight of the Storm's 10 games this season have seen 43+ points
- Titans have conceded a total of 11 tries in their last seven games to the opposition right winger (Faalogo)
- Sualauvi Faalogo has scored a try in his last two appearances vs Titans
- Titans have conceded at least one try to second-rowers in their last five games & a total of four tries to the opposition right second-rower (Eliesa Katoa) in their last four games
Head To Head
The Storm have won 10 of their last 11 games against the Titans, but were made to work in their most-recent encounter, prevailing 22-20 in Round 9 last year, with a Nick Meaney penalty goal proving the difference.

It's been a dreadful season for the enigmatic Titans, who continue to promise so much and deliver so little.
However, such is the nature of the NRL competition this season, the Titans remain just one win outside of the top eight despite languishing down in 16th spot on the ladder.
There's no two ways around it - Gold Coast's defence is simply not good enough to challenge for finals football, leaking 31 points per game.
Des Hasler's team have lost six of their last seven games, including a most-recent 40-24 defeat to the Raiders.

More reshuffling in the backline for the Titans, with Jaylan de Groot at fullback, AJ Brimson starting at five-eighth, Kieran Foran going to the bench and Brian Kelly replacing Tony Francis at centre.

It's been a wildly inconsistent season for the Storm that has surely resulted in a handful of classic Craig Bellamy sprays.
Melbourne have put together a 6-4 record after 10 games to be sitting in fourth spot on the ladder, failing to win consecutive games through Rounds 6-11.
One week after demolishing the Tigers 64-0, the Storm were defeated by the Sharks, highlighting their hot-and-cold nature at the moment.
Fresh off the bye last week and blessed with a very favourable matchup here, the Storm should be primed for a big performance.
