If you hadn't watched a game all season, scanned this Broncos line-up and saw the Titans anchored to the bottom of the ladder, you'd be backing Brisbane by 50.
But, unfortunately for the Broncos, talent on paper isn't translating to positive results on the field. There's a lot going on at Red Hill - many believe the board were wrong in sacking Kevin Walters, with the current playing group seemingly not accepting Michael Maguire's old-school approach. There's also been rumours of various player unrest, which wouldn't be surprising considering the Broncos have only won one match since April 5, losing six of their last seven coming into this clash.
The Titans also can't be trusted, but they did put in a respectable showing in a 28-16 loss to the Storm last week. I'm backing Gold Coast to cover a generous +20.5 line with Over 42.5 total match points in the alternate markets, while Over 50.5 points is also tipped in a match between teams that have been leaking points, but also have the potential to score ample points when their attacks click. Hulking Titans winger Allan Fitzgibbon can continue his excellent try-scoring record from reserve grade as he looks to cement a starting spot in the NRL.
- Broncos have lost six of their last seven games
- Titans have scored 100 points in three straight wins over Broncos
- Titans have won five of their last seven games vs Broncos at Suncorp
- Titans have covered a +20.5 line & seen Over 42.5 points in their last four games
- Titans have seen 50+ points in five of their last seven games
- Three of the last four meetings have seen 64+ points
- Allan Fitzgibbon scored 57 tries in 62 games in NSW Cup & has one try from two games in first grade for the Titans
Head To Head
The Titans have had the wood over Brisbane in recent times, winning the last three encounters between the teams - including a dominant 46-18 victory in Round 22 last year where they scored 36 unanswered points in the second half.

It's been a nightmare season for the Broncos, who come into this Round 14 clash in 11th spot on the ladder - their lowest position so far in 2025.
It's hard to believe Brisbane opened the season by dropping 50 points on the Roosters and also own a 24-point victory over the table-topping Bulldogs.
Kevin Walters needs a miracle to get this playing group on board - the Broncos have lost six of their last seven games, including a terrible 34-6 defeat to an out-of-form Manly side last week when they were fresh off the bye and should have been ready to rip in.

Huge in for the Broncos as Reece Walsh returns at fullback for his first game since Round 7.
Selwyn Cobbo returns to the wing as a result, with Deine Mariner dropping out. The Pat Carrigan front row experiment is over, with Corey Jenson starting at prop and Kobe Hetherington reverting to the bench.

Safe to say it's not been an ideal season for the Titans to date - they're anchored to the bottom of the ladder with eight defeats from 11 games.
However, such is the nature of the NRL this season, Gold Coast are just two wins outside of the top eight, so if they can somehow string a good month of football together, then who knows...
In saying that, the Titans just don't have the consistency or defence to put together sustained positive results and performances, coming into this clash with seven defeats from their last eight games.
Gold Coast weren't embarrassed in a 28-16 last-start loss to the Storm at home, but they never really looked likely to spring the upset.

Allan Fitzgibbon comes onto the wing for Jojo Fifita, who suffered a broken hand last week.
There's a bit of that going around, with Sam Verrills also set to underdog surgery for a broken hand. Sean Mullany comes into the starting side at hooker.

Verdict
Can't back the Broncos on current form, so the Titans are tipped to cover a big +20.5 line in a game that should see plenty of points if recent meetings are anything to go by.
Allan Fitzgibbon had a huge impact in the NSW Cup over the last two years and should relish his opportunity in first grade against an out-of-form Broncos side.
