Race 4 No. 7 Deflector

She was supported at a price first-up on Wagga Town Plate Day, where Deflector made ground after an awkward start.

While she had her chance last start when narrowly defeated, the four-year-old did jump cleaner via that Corowa attempt.

Deflector returns to her home track on Thursday and at only start five overall, this mare still has upside.

This is no stronger than the last maiden that she contested and from gate one, Deflector can breakthrough here.

Race 6 No. 7 Elastane Miss

This daughter of Hallowed Crown ran into The Unique Star when runner-up at Albury on debut last November.

The Unique Star won two of his next three outings and the last of those was a comfortable metro victory on Wednesday.

Elastane Miss broke through at start two before a spell and she returned with a second on May 16.

That form reads okay, as the winner nearly saluted on Monday and Before The War (third) has been competitive in Victoria.

Race 7 No. 9 Persian Dancer

She will be at peak fitness fourth-up and Persian Dancer carries 5kg less from her third-up outing, but she's up in grade and the mare was plain off a soft run in transit last start.

Persian Dancer has been well-backed early at Neds, with the five-year-old now on the third line betting at $7 (opened $12).

With 14 winners at a good strike-rate of 25%, Nick Heywood is the leading jockey at Wagga this season.

He has three engagements on Thursday's meeting.
