He’s building a strong record with five wins and five placings from 12 starts, and his second-up success at Warwick Farm over 1300m was impressive. The form has held up fairly, giving him a solid platform into this assignment.

With his strong stats at 1200m, the slight drop in trip is no negative, and connections have found a suitable option after scratching from a wide draw on Saturday’s Golden Eagle program.

He bolted in third-up last campaign before winning four straight through the Provincial Championship path, which shows how effective he can be deeper into a prep.

Main threats include Carbonados, who can mix his form, while Junqueira and Midnight Opal both need to improve on their first-up runs to challenge.

Big Dance Tips (Race 5)

Randwick Feature Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Tavi Time

Kris Lees prepared the first Big Dance winner, Rustic Steel, and looks to have timed Tavi Time’s preparation perfectly to peak for this edition. The gelding has built well through two runs this prep, beginning with an unlucky Cameron Handicap performance where he ran the fastest closing sectionals of the race.

He then dropped from 1500m back to 1400m second-up in a fast-run contest that didn’t quite suit, but it should have him cherry-ripe for this mile target. The tick-over trial on October 24 adds further fitness.

Tavi Time has won three from five third-up attempts, all in the 1500–1600m range, including a strong Listed Scone Cup victory earlier this year that came under similar conditions.

He looks well treated at the weights relative to Gringotts and Headley Grange from their recent clash, and this sets up perfectly for a peak performance.

United Resource Choisir Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Randwick Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 8 Zealously

This Peter Snowden-trained sprinter broke the 1000m track record at Warwick Farm first-up on October 6 when leading throughout and holding off several promising rivals. While that form hasn’t yet produced a winner, Flying For Fun (third) was runner-up at Group 3 level on Derby Day.

Zealously was then tested in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint on October 18, where he was perhaps a false favourite in a high-quality race but still stuck on well as the best of the on-speed brigade.

The main query is whether two fast-run races and interstate travel take any edge off, though his record says otherwise — he’s unbeaten from two third-up runs, both at this trip, including a Listed win at Scone last prep.

This is easier than the Melbourne contest he faced last start, and a return to Sydney conditions should suit.

Randwick Value Bet - Race 10 No. 11 Super Impressive

There’s not much separating several of these on exposed form, but Super Impressive brings an element of upside and a strong finishing burst that could make the difference late.

The daughter of Smart Missile has returned well this spring, running the fastest closing sectionals of the Port Macquarie meeting first-up before being nabbed on the line when runner-up at Taree second-up.

A predicted strong tempo up front should play into her hands, and staying at 1000m — her pet trip — is another tick. If the swoopers are making ground, she can be dangerous late at big odds.

She’s likely to go around at a long price as a visiting country galloper, but with the right tempo and track pattern, Super Impressive is a knockout chance.
