The meeting shapes as a solid betting card with conditions expected to favour those able to handle a genuine surface, and we’ve identified the key runners worth following.

Eagle Farm Tips November 4

Cricks Highway QTIS Three-Year-Old & Four-Year-Old Benchmark 68 Handicap Tips (Race 2)

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Paleface Ringo

The gelding showed good form earlier this year, winning both starts last preparation including over 1000m at Dalby in June. That effort came on a sound surface, and he returned nine months later to again perform strongly under similar conditions.

The son of Under The Louvre then registered his first win on rain-affected ground when narrowly taking out a 1200m Benchmark 68 Handicap at Ipswich in July, overcoming an awkward start to prevail from barrier seven.

Jack Brown’s galloper was spelled following that success and had one quiet trial before resuming at this venue last month, finishing within three-and-a-half lengths of the winner at $31 in a Benchmark 0-70 on good going.

He’s expected to improve sharply second-up and may prove capable of landing his second win in three starts over this trip.

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 6 Lonhro’s Queen

The daughter of Lonhro is a proven fresh performer, having twice saluted first-up from a spell. One of those came by nearly two-and-a-half lengths in a Benchmark 82 Handicap at Scone in March, and she’s shown she can handle both heavy and dry ground.

While her later winter form tapered off, she still produced a credible fifth at Benchmark 78 level at Randwick in June before a below-par run at Rosehill in early July.

Now with Chris and Corey Munce, Lonhro’s Queen has looked sharp in two recent trials, placing third in each, and she draws ideally on the inside for her return.

Martin Harley’s record with the Munce stable is strong at 19% (16 from 84), and this looks a winnable race for the combination to strike again.

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 10 No. 1 Torque To Be Sure

While still a maiden after six starts, Torque To Be Sure has shown genuine talent, with four of those efforts coming in Listed or Group company. The son of Shamus Award finished runner-up in each of his first three appearances, including a narrow defeat in Listed grade at this track in May.

He then tackled stronger opposition, running fifth in the Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm before contesting the Group 1 J.J. Atkins, where he finished midfield over 1600m on good ground.

Gelded since that campaign, the Matthew Dunn-trained three-year-old looks well placed dropping back in class to handicap level.

Barrier one is a big plus, and after trialling well in recent weeks, he appears ready to make a winning return to the races.
