In-form trainer Peter Snowden prepares Vision In A Dream, a half-sister to triple Group 3 winner My Whisper.

She was just even on debut at Gosford on February 11 when sent out a well-supported favourite.

However, Vision In A Dream is bred to get over more ground and perhaps simply found the 1200m too sharp there.

She found the line much stronger at Wyong at start two when stepping up to 1350m, catching the eye late with the fastest last 200m of that race.

That effort gives her a good platform to attack a mile now at start three, a distance she appears to be looking for.

Magical Moments joined the Beer and Carpenter stable ahead of this campaign, and the four-year-old has shown good form for the new yard.

She bolted in last start over this journey at Kembla Grange.

That came off an unlucky 1200m effort at her January 28 resumption.

In that fresh assignment, she was shuffled back and held up in the home straight before being forced to come off heels and make a wider run against the race shape.

Now third-up and with that confidence booster, Magical Moments looks capable of holding her form in what appears another suitable race.

The Prince Of Merewether BM68 Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Newcastle Roughie - Race 8 No. 10 Rothrock

Long odds are available for the locally prepared Rothrock.

The seven-year-old mare is well exposed, but she is often competitive on the provincial circuit.

Both summer runs have been encouraging, including a fifth-of-10 finish when resuming over 1400m here on January 24 when specked at big odds.

The daughter of Scissor Kick backed that performance up with a third-of-nine finish on February 14 when stepping sharply up in trip to 1890m.

Despite working early to find the lead that day, Rothrock was still clearly the pick of the on-speed brigade in that latest event.
