Daggers has shown a clear liking for wet surfaces, with both career wins coming on soft going.
Those victories date back to a 1200m event at Moonee Valley in August 2024, and he has been competitive in defeat since.
A strong third over 1200m in a Benchmark 84 at Moonee Valley in September highlighted that form.
Beaten less than half a length on that occasion, he was spelled after a Cranbourne run before joining Tony Gollan.
He returned over 1000m here three weeks ago and, with similar conditions expected and the rise in distance a positive, Daggers looks ready to break through.

She made amends last start, winning comfortably by over two-and-a-half lengths in similar company.
With early speed shown this campaign and a good barrier, Desanto looks capable of progressing further in this grade.

Eagle Farm Feature Bet - Race 9 No. 1 Antino
Antino is a Group 1 winner, having taken out the Doomben Cup over 2000m last May.
He was dominant on that occasion, winning by four lengths despite drawing wide.
Most of his recent runs have been at the highest level, including the All-Star Mile at Flemington last start.
That performance followed another Group 2 effort at Randwick and came in stronger company than this.
Dropping back in grade and returning to a track where he has an excellent record, Antino looks well placed as the clear class runner of this field.
