Australia vs Oman 2026 T20 World Cup Tips - Australia to Get Loose

Australia, after a disappointing exit from the T20 World Cup 2026 due to losses against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, aims to conclude the tournament on a high note against a weaker Oman side. Having dominated Oman in their sole previous encounter, Australia's young bowlers, notably Nathan Ellis, are poised to take advantage of Oman's difficulties against fast bowling. Meanwhile, Josh Inglis could shine despite potential batting order changes. Oman has faced substantial defeats and may struggle to resist Australia's might on the field.

Australia vs Oman 2026 T20 World Cup Tips

The Aussies are likely to anhilate Oman in this matchup with younger stars tipped to get their shot in the limelight.

Australia have been bundled out of the T20 World Cup after losing to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. There was a slim glimmer of hope that Ireland would upset Zimbabwe to give Australia a chance but that game was washed out earlier in the week.

Now Australia have the chance to finish the tournament on a high by belting the lowly ranked Oman who are not likely to put up much of a resistance.

If you like a bit of unusual trends, two of the three top scorers against Oman this tournament have been wicketkeepers. Even in the matchup v Zimbabwe, the wicketkeeper had the 2nd highest total runs.

Josh Inglis opened the batting against Zimbabwe and Ireland but was put further down the order against Sri Lanka. Even if he bats down the order, he still might have a chance of being the top scorer for Australia and it would make for an interesting run for Wicket Keepers v Oman.

Oman have been troubled by quicks so far in this tournament, so it's likely the young Aussie speedsters will have their fair share of wickets here. Nathan Ellis has proven he can take wickets at this tournament and is a good pick to pick up another bag.

Australia Form

Australia won their first game against Ireland but then suffered back to back defeats to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. The batting has been enough but the bowling has not been able to live up to expectations.

There was a lot of talk about not including Steve Smith in the team against Sri Lanka depsite him being included in the squad as an injury replacement once the tournament had already begun.

Australia Squad

Mitchell Marsh (c), Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Tim David, Ben Dwarshuis, Cameron Green, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Renshaw, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, Steve Smith (injury replacement)

Oman Form

Oman were absolutley belted in all three of their games at the tournament. 8 wickets to Zimbabwe, 105 runs to Sri Lanka and 96 runs to Ireland.

It is not likely they put up much of a fight against Australia.
