North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagles, Round 13 2025 - Expert Prediction

North Melbourne will chalk up their third win of the season when they take on the West Coast Eagles in Bunbury on Sunday.

Hands Oval hosts an AFL match for the first time as part of North Melbourne’s agreement to host two matches in Western Australia for the next few years.

Will that move backfire for the Kangaroos? They have won two of their past three against the Eagles in the west and are playing slightly superior football at this point in the season.

Alistair Clarkson’s side were no match for Collingwood in Round 12, going down by 45, but featured in a number of close matches prior to that. They have tightened up their defence and will be able to restrict West Coast, who rank 17th for scoring in 2025.

The Eagles stuck with Geelong for three quarters last weekend before going down by 43. They will be in this for a long way but lack the depth the Kangaroos have around the ground.

Take North Melbourne in the head to head. Harry Sheezel will be ready to find plenty of the footy again after a couple of quiet weeks. Nick Larkey and Oscar Allen will be amongst the goals for their respective sides.

  • North Melbourne have won two of their past three against West Coast in Western Australia
  • Harry Sheezel has averaged 31.5 disposals in the past four matches between the two sides.
  • Nick Larkey has kicked 14 from his past four against the Eagles
  • Oscar Allen kicked four goals last weekend and booted five the last time the two sides met.

Head to Head

West Coast came from the clouds to pinch the Round 22 encounter last season in the final minutes of the game, winning by five points. Colby McKercher had 37 disposals for North Melbourne in that match. Oscar Allen booted five goals for the Eagles.

North Melbourne have won four of the past six matches between the two sides. Harry Sheezel has averaged 31.5 disposals in the past four matches, while Luke Davies-Uniacke has averaged 29. Nick Larkey has kicked 14 goals in that period, while Paul Curtis has kicked 10.

North Melbourne are one of four sides that had the bye in Round 12. Their record of two wins, eight losses and a draw is poor but their past five weeks have been their best for the season. Outside of the loss to Collingwood, that time period has yielded a win, a draw, and two losses by under 10 points.

The Kangaroos have tightened up their defence in that period. At the other end of the ground, Cam Zurhaar has kicked 11 goals from his past four matches, while Luke Davies- Uniacke.

Davies Uniacke has had 25+ disposals in his past eight matches. Harry Sheezel has been a tad quiet over the past fortnight with 20 disposals in each of his last two matches. He hit the 30+ mark in four of five games prior to that.
