Fremantle Dockers vs Port Adelaide Power, Round 11 2025 - Expert Prediction

All the data is pointing towards Freo to get up and the bookies are also predicting a big win for the Dockers at Optus stadium, but there is one thing that makes this result a little uneasy.

An 18.5-point line is pretty hefty considering how inconsistent Fremantle have been tis season and yes Port can also put their own hand up in that conversation and know what week-to-week form is all about, especially in front goal. But, the scary stat when looking at this matchup is that the Power have won 6 of their last 7 against the Dockers, including the last two matches played in Perth.

The kicker for Freo here is that Port have been hit with another bunch of injuries to Jason Horne-Francis Lachie Jones and Josh Sinn, so the question here should be more about the margin than the result.

Port have been pumped twice in the last 3 weeks, but Freo have been too inconsistent to back them 40+, so I like the line of 18.5 points as the favourite for the Dockers and I don’t see where the Power will find 74 points to come over their team total.

Caleb Serong played up to his full potential last week in Freo big win over GWS with 36 disposals and 8 clearances and it is predicted that he will tally another 30+ disposals this week for the Dockers.

  • Freo have won 3 of their last 4 matches at Optus Stadium.
  • Fremantle have held their opponents under 73.5 points in 3 of 5 games this season at Optus Stadium
  • Port Adelaide have scored under 73.5 points in 50% of their games this season.
  • Caleb Serong has had 30+ disposals in 4 of his last 8 games.

Head to Head

The head to head count is well in the favour of Port Adelaide with a 6-2 record in the last 8 matches against Fremantle since 2019.

4 of the last 6 matches have gone under the game total.

‘You are only as good as your last match,’ will be the quote that Justin Longmuir takes into this week after the dockers squashed the Giants 95-61 last weekend,  giving them a 50 percent record with 5 wins this season, sitting just outside the top 8.

Shai Bolton has finally found his feet and had the biggest impact on a game in the purple ‘V’ since joining the club this season. The flying attacker kicked three goals along with 24 disposals including 12 contested possessions, being the absolute menace like he was for the Tigers for many years.

The Dockers now need to hold onto that momentum and turn their strong midfield play into more attacking chances.

Fremantle Dockers Team News

Sean Darcy is on pace to return in the ruck for the Dockers with his usage unknown this week after Luke Jackson performed so well last weekend.

Nathan O’Driscoll is also set to return on the wing for the Dockers as Freo becomes healthier by the week.

Things are going from bad to worse for the Power, who lost their third consecutive match, in a big way, going down to the Cats by 76 points in Round 10. A five point loss to the Crown the week before was flattering for Port who were also thumped by the 90 points by the Bulldogs in Round 8.

Besides their incredibly poor accuracy in front of goal that we have harped on for a couple of years now, where is it going wrong?

For starters, Port are ranked 18th in opposition points from stoppages and 17th in centre clearances, having some major problems around the ruck contests. This is also highlighted by their inability to win contested possessions, ranked 16th in the league.

Compile their poor possession play with their crazy eyes in front of goal and you are going to have some serious issues.

Jason Horne-Francis Lachie Jones and Josh Sinn are added to the list that already has names like Jack Lukosius, Xavier Walsh and Tom Cochrane.

The unavailable are stacking up on Port in a time that they need all hands on deck to get themselves out of the hole they are digging.
