Novak Djokovic vs Marton Fucsovics Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Novak Djokovic is desperate to restore some confidence and secure match wins before Roland Garros as he prepares to face Marton Fucsovics in the second round of the Geneva Open on Wednesday.

Incredibly, Djokovic hasn't won a single set on clay heading into this contest, suffering defeats to Alejandro Tabilo and Matteo Arnaldi in straights in Monte Carlo and Madrid respectively. Djokovic opted to withdraw from Rome and has since called off his coaching partnership with Andy Murray, so there's a bit going on right now for the Serbian.
Fucsovics should provide Djokovic with another stern test here. The Hungarian has troubled Djokovic when he was at the peak of his powers, winning a set in three of the five previous meetings, so there's no reason he shouldn't have more success against the veteran in his current form. Fucsovics already has a match win under his belt in Geneva (and he's a former champion at this event, winning his first ATP title in 2018) and has nothing to lose - I'm backing him to cover with a +4.5 start here.
Head To Head
Djokovic leads 5-0, but as mentioned, Fucsovics has taken a set in three of those defeats. Their last meeting was in the second round of the 2023 French Open, which Djokovic won 7-6 6-0 6-3.
Novak Djokovic Form
It's been a tough season for Djokovic, who comes into this clash with a 12-7 record, with 10 of those wins coming at two tournaments.
Djokovic suffered immense disappointment when he was forced to retire after one set in the Australian Open semi-finals against Alexander Zverev after earlier beating Carlos Alcaraz - and save for a good run to the final of the Miami Masters (where he lost to Jakub Mensik), it's been a struggle for the Serbian to consistently produce something anywhere near to his best tennis.
The 24-time major winner hasn't won a set since Miami, going down in straights to Alejandro Tabilo in Monte Carlo and Matteo Arnaldi in Madrid.
But, the slams are why Djokovic continues to play and he needs matches before heading to Roland Garros next week. It was a similar case last season, where Djokovic made the Geneva semi-finals before going down to Tomas Machac.
Marton Fucsovics Form
It's been a strange old season for Fucsovics - he's put together a 6-2 record at tour-level coming into this match, but is also down at No. 134 in the world.
After dropping out of the top 100 at the end of last season, Fucsovics failed to qualify for the Australian Open and has been operating on the Challenger Tour for most of the year, where he's finding it tough to find the motivation after so many consecutive years at the top level.
However, Fucsovics proved he still has what it takes to compete on the main tour, making the semi-finals of Bucharest earlier in the clay season, while he registered a very solid straight sets win over the in-form Zizou Bergs in his Geneva opener earlier this week.
Fucsovics has fond memories of Geneva, winning his maiden ATP title here in 2018, but this is his first appearance at the tournament since 2021.

Verdict
Djokovic has really struggled on clay, losing in straight sets to players outside the top 30 in his two tournaments.
Fucsovics is a former Geneva champion and has taken a set off Djokovic in three of the five previous meetings, along with taking him to a tiebreak in another. The Hungarian has dropped down the rankings, but can still cover with a +4.5 start here.
