The upcoming clash between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Bublik at the Terra Wortmann Open promises intense action as the Italian star, currently holding a 19-2 record, defends his title. Sinner has displayed dominance by not losing to players outside the top 20 since 2024, but Bublik, with a 2023 win in Halle, poses a significant threat. Despite Sinner's edge in head-to-head encounters, Bublik’s performance on grass could make the match competitive. Viewers can stream the excitement live if they meet specific conditions.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner continues his Terra Wortmann Open title defence in Halle when he squares off against the dangerous Alexander Bublik in the second round on Thursday.

These two players are the last two Halle champions, with Sinner prevailing last year and Bublik reigning supreme in 2023, overcoming the Italian via retirement in the quarter-finals that season. This will also be the second consecutive tournament these two have squared off, with Sinner taking out Bublik in the French Open quarter-finals.

Sinner almost certainly wins again, but on grass, Bublik can cover a +4.5 games line. Sinner hasn't lost to a player other than Carlos Alcaraz since August 2024 and is also on a 66-match winning streak against opponents outside the top 20. However, I think Bublik can keep at least one set close and on grass it's easier for him to hold and thus maintain scoreboard pressure, which gives him a lesser chance of tanking. Backing Bublik to cover, with Sinner also failing to cover a +4.5 games line in eight of his nine previous matches in Halle.

Head To Head

Sinner leads 4-1, with Bublik's lone victory coming via retirement. The Italian was a dominant 6-1 7-5 6-0 winner in the French Open quarter-finals just a few weeks ago.

Jannik Sinner Form

Sinner has compiled a 19-2 record this season and will be hoping to immediately put his French Open final defeat to Alcaraz in the rear view mirror by defending his title in Halle this week.

The Italian's rise to World No. 1 has been utterly dominant and reminiscent of the 'Big Three' in their heyday, but his inability to conquer Alcaraz is something he must overcome if he wants to consistently win slams having lost the last five meetings between the pair.

It's literally only Alcaraz that is challenging Sinner at the moment - he hasn't lost to any other player since August 2024, so he's obviously the heavy favourite to go all the way in Halle again this week.

Sinner had a potentially tricky opening round test against powerful German player Yannick Hanfmann, but the top seed showed his class in a 7-5 6-3 triumph.

Alexander Bublik Form

Bublik heads into this clash with a negative 12-14 record on the season, but he remains capable of beating anyone on his day - as he proved at the French Open.

Arriving in Paris with just seven tour-level wins on the season, Bublik stunned everyone on his least preferred surface, toppling top 10 players Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper to reach the quarter-finals, where he of course ran into Sinner.

That run helped Bublik steady his ranking at No. 45 after he was in danger of crashing out of the top 100.

Back in Halle, Bublik has great memories of this tournament after beating the likes of Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev to win the 2023 title. Bublik got his campaign up and running this week with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Alexandre Muller in the opening round.

Verdict

Sinner has won his last 66 matches vs players outside the top 20 and he almost certainly extends that record here.

However, Bublik is very dangerous in these conditions and a former Halle champion, beating top players during that run. Backing Bublik to serve well enough to cover a +4.5 games line.
