Carlos Alcaraz, fresh from his historic Australian Open victory, is set to face Arthur Rinderknech in the first round of the Qatar Open. Alcaraz, aiming to maintain his winning streak, is expected to win, although not without challenges. Rinderknech, having tested Alcaraz in previous encounters, is seen as a formidable opponent. The prediction suggests that while Alcaraz is likely to emerge victorious, Rinderknech's strong serving ability could result in a competitive game with potential tiebreaks.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Arthur Rinderknech Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Carlos Alcaraz returns to action for the first time since winning the Australian Open when he meets the big-serving Arthur Rinderknech in the first round of the Qatar Open in Doha on Tuesday night.

It hasn't taken long for Alcaraz to make more history in 2026, with the Spaniard becoming the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam as he took out the Australian Open title for the first time, defeating Novak Djokovic in the final. Alcaraz now holds an astonishing seven major titles at the age of 22 and will be looking to maintain his winning momentum as he prepares for a tilt at the Doha title this week, where he could potentially face great rival Jannik Sinner in the final. Rinderknech meanwhile is aiming to regain the sort of tennis that saw him make a Masters 1000 final in Shanghai late last year, with the Frenchman equipped with the weapons to do damage against the game's elite.

Indeed, Rinderknech is 3-3 in his last six matches vs top 10 players and he's pushed Alcaraz at various stages in their four previous meetings. While Alcaraz almost certainly wins, I don't expect the Spaniard to be absolutely firing out of the blocks in Doha after all he achieved in Melbourne. With such a strong serve and ability to win cheap points, the +6.5 line for Rinderknech looks great value, along with the Frenchman winning Over 6.5 total games. These two have played three tiebreaks before, so that's the big value option for Tuesday's showdown.
  • Rinderknech is 3-3 in his last six matches vs top 10 players
  • Rinderknech has covered a +6.5 line in his last six matches vs top 10 players
  • Rinderknech has won Over 6.5 games in 15 of his last 16 matches vs top 10 players
  • Rinderknech has seen at least one tiebreak in four of his last six matches vs top 10 players
  • Three of the four previous meetings have produced at least one tiebreak
  • Rinderknech has covered a +6.5 line and won Over 6.5 games in all four previous meetings vs Alcaraz
  • Alcaraz has failed to cover a -6.5 line in all three previous Doha matches, also allowing his opponent 7+ games in all three

Carlos Alcaraz Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 7-0
  • ATP Doha Record: 2-1
  • Current Ranking: No. 1
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 1

Alcaraz continues to make history and it's insane to think he's now tied the likes of Ivan Lendl and Mats Wilander for seven Grand Slam titles at the tender age of 22.

If he keeps going at this rate, Alcaraz is every chance of matching and eclipsing the likes of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal over the next decade.

After easing past Tommy Paul and Alex de Minaur in straight sets, Alcaraz was forced to dig deep at the business end of the Australian Open, edging out Alexander Zverev in a five-set thriller before recovering from a set down to conquer Djokovic in the final, becoming the youngest man in history to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Now, Alcaraz turns his attention to Doha, where he suffered a shock quarter-final loss to Jiri Lehecka last year. The 22-year-old is determined to keep improving himself and not take anything for granted.

“Obviously I can see myself that [I have had] a lot of success so far, winning the biggest tournaments in the world,” Alcaraz told media ahead of his Doha campaign.
“But I just see myself with weaknesses. A lot of players, I know that they're trying to catch me up in terms of they are studying my game, they study how I play, trying to beat me, trying to challenge me.
“I have to be ready for that, and I have to see where my level is, where my tennis is. I have to try to put myself in their minds and think what they could do when playing against me. So that's what I mean about saying I have to improve some things. Obviously, you cannot be lagging in the level, you just have to keep it going.”

Arthur Rinderknech Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 3-3
  • ATP Doha Record: 3-1
  • Current Ranking: No. 30
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 26 (Jan 2026)

Rinderknech took his game and career to another level late last year when he beat Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev on his way to a maiden Masters 1000 final in Shanghai, ultimately falling to his cousin and qualifier Valentin Vacherot in one of the most incredible tennis storylines of all time.

The Frenchman hasn't exactly maintained that sort of form over the last few months, failing to win back-to-back matches outside of Davis Cup.

Rinderknech went down in the opening round of the Australian Open to Fabian Marozsan and was also upstaged 7-5 6-3 in the first round of Rotterdam last week by Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The 30-year-old is playing Doha for the first time since 2022, where he beat the likes of Alexander Bublik and Denis Shapovalov to make the semi-finals.
