• Spizzirri has continued his great form, crushing James Duckworth 6-2 6-4 in the opening round of Dallas
• Pinnington Jones is playing just his second tour-level event - I don't think he's ready to make an ATP 500 quarter-final right now
• The Brit had a dominant win over Flavio Cobolli in Round 1, but the Italian is in atrocious form right now - I'm not taking much out of that performance

Denis Shapovalov vs Aleksandar Kovacevic Tips

• Shapovalov loves the indoor conditions in Dallas, winning his last six matches at the tournament following last year's title and his Round 1 this event
• Some of the names Shapovalov has beaten at this event - Taylor Fritz, Tomas Machac, Casper Ruud and Tommy Paul
• Shapovalov produced one of his finest performances in years to demolish rising star Rafael Jodar 6-1 6-1 in his first round
• Shapovalov has covered a -3.5 line in his last four Dallas matches
• Shapovalov covered a -3.5 line in his only previous meeting with Kovacevic, defeating the American 6-4 6-2 in the final of Los Cabos last year - this is a good matchup for him between single-handed backhands
• Kovacevic has a 4-16 record in his last 20 matches vs top 40 opponents - he tends to be outclassed when up against elite and in-form opponents

Ethan Quinn vs Marin Cilic Tips

• Cilic is playing well and commands respect here, but he's 37 years old and there's always a risk with match-to-match consistency when he takes to court - I can't back him as favourite here
• Quinn is coming into his own at 21 years of age and is full of confidence after a fantastic start to the year
• Quinn beat Hubert Hurkacz and Tallon Griekspoor to make the third round of the Australian Open and then edged out Fabian Marozsan in Hungary in Davis Cup, saving four match points
• The American will have the home crowd support and if he can take care of his serve, he should have the slight edge from the baseline here

Tommy Paul vs Miomir Kecmanovic Tips

• Kecmanovic may lead the H2H, but Paul has won two of the last three meetings, with both victories coming in straight sets and on hardcourt
• Kecmanovic has been in terrible form to start the year - he was 0-4 before winning his first round in Dallas. It wasn't an impressive victory either, needing a final set tiebreak to edge out World No. 144 Sho Shimabukuro
• By contrast, Paul is looking strong after recovering from the injury problems that plagued him throughout 2025
• Paul made the Adelaide semi-finals and R16 of the Australian Open, where it took Carlos Alcaraz to stop him in a relatively close three-setter
• Paul registered a good win over the dangerous Jenson Brooksby in R1 and should be much better for the run in this matchup
