Alexander Bublik faces Alex Molcan in the ATP Kitzbuhel quarter-final, with a close and competitive match anticipated. Bublik seeks revenge for his loss earlier this season to Molcan, who leads their head-to-head 1-0. The high altitude favors Bublik’s serve and flat shots, making him a slight favorite despite recent inconsistencies. Molcan, coming off a strong comeback from injury, has made several deep runs in 2026. The main prediction is over 22.5 games, with a smaller stake on Bublik edging out the win in three sets.

Alexander Bublik vs Alex Molcan ATP KItzbuhel Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Over 22.5 games is tipped for this Generali Open quarter-final in Kitzbuhel, with Alexander Bublik avenging his defeat to Alex Molcan from earlier this season.
Molcan defeated Bublik in straight sets in Munich during the clay swing, but the Kazakh is the defending champion in Kitzbuhel and usually thrives in the high altitude, which suits his big serve and flat groundstrokes.
Bublik overcame a tough challenge in his Kitzbuhel opener, beating Facunco Diaz Acosta - who had won tons of clay matches this year - in straight sets. It was an important victory for Bublik, who lost the opening match of his Gstaad title defence last week to Quentin Halys.
Meanwhile, Molcan has continued his excellent comeback from injury, which saw him drop to as low as No. 646 in the world last year. The Slovakian has gone from outside the top 200 to a current ranking of No. 81, backing up a semi-final run in Umag last week with a quarter-final appearance here in Kitzbuhel.
Molcan will certainly fancy his chances after that aforementioned Munich triumph, but in these conditions, I have to give the slight edge to Bublik, who has an outstanding recent 8-2 record in quarter-finals - with those two defeats coming against Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Over 22.5 games is the main play, with a smaller stake on Bublik prevailing in three.

Alexander Bublik Form Analysis
- 2026 ATP Record: 24-16
- ATP Kitzbuhel Record: 5-1
- Current Ranking: No. 11
- Career-High Ranking: No. 10 (Jan 2026)
Although Bublik remains just outside the world's top 10 after capturing the Hong Kong title earlier this season, his form has levelled off over the last few months.
The Kazakh has struggled to build momentum since March, compiling a modest 8-7 record against opponents ranked outside the top 50. After making noticeable strides with his consistency, focus and overall mentality over the previous 12 months, some of those old lapses have begun to resurface, which has been reflected in his recent results.
Bublik did produce a respectable Wimbledon campaign, advancing to the fourth round, but he was unable to carry that form into Gstaad, suffering a disappointing opening-defeat to Quentin Halys as the defending champion. Despite pushing the match to a deciding-set tiebreak, Bublik fell 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(5).
The 29-year-old is again the defending champion in Kitzbuhel and he got off to a winning start this time, registering a 6-3 7-5 victory, firing down eight aces and winning 81 per cent of first serve points.
Alex Molcan Form Analysis
- 2026 ATP Record: 12-6
- ATP Kitzbuhel Record: 4-1
- Current Ranking: No. 81
- Career-High Ranking: No. 38 (2022)
Molcan suffered a huge rankings freefall last year due to injury, dropping outside the world's top 600 and he started this year outside the top 200.
However, Molcan has done a tremendous job of rebuilding his ranking and he comes into this contest back inside the top 100.
The Slovakian has made at least the quarter-finals in four of the six tour-level events he's entered in 2026, while he also reached the final of the Prostejov Challenger.
Molcan is coming off a semi-final run in Umag where he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and he's backed it up with a quarter-final showing here in Kitzbuhel, beating Sebastian Ofner 6-4 6-4 in the first round before a tough 6-3 3-6 7-5 victory over Daniel Altmaier.
