One of three all A-League R32 ties in this year's Australia Cup, both Perth and Wellington will be hoping to put disappointing recent A-League campaigns behind them and advance into the R16 here. Indeed, both these teams were forced to go through the playoffs to enter the Australia Cup after finishing in the bottom four this season, with Glory edging out Central Coast 3-2 in extra-time and Phoenix overcoming Brisbane 1-0.
Always tough to call these early Australia Cup games, especially when the A-League sides are still in preseason and have made various changes to their squads. Looking at the odds, Phoenix are the value bet here - they've gone unbeaten in 11 of the last 12 meetings between the teams and have been the overall superior side over the last few seasons. Wellington to win and both teams finding the net offer juicy value for Sunday's showdown.

As mentioned, Perth have struggled in the Distance Derby in recent times, winning just one of the last 12 encounters - although, that lone win was the most-recent clash between the sides in the final round of last season's A-League, with Glory emerging 2-0 victors at Sky Stadium.

Wellington also suffered a 'Cupset' in last year's competition, going down to South Melbourne, while their best result was a semi-final showing in 2021.
The Kiwi club have some recent match practice under their belts, securing a solid 1-0 victory over English Championship side Wrexham in a friendly last week.
Phoenix have seen star winger Kosta Barbarouses depart for the Wanderers in the off-season, with former Glory winger Carlo Armiento joining the side, along with Nigerian striker Ifeanyi Eze.
