After suffering a shock 3-0 loss to the Jets in their only previous meeting this season, Victory will be aiming to turn the tables at AAMI Park as they finalise their preparations for the upcoming finals series.

Victory still have a very outside shot at finishing in the top two, but they would need Melbourne City, Western United and the Wanderers all to lose and then defeat the Jets with a four-goal swing. Perhaps a more realistic scenario, Victory can finish in the top four and secure a home elimination final if either of Western and the Wanderers fail to win and they proceed to defeat the Jets.

I think the goals will flow here, with the Jets confirmed to finish in ninth spot on the ladder. Newcastle have scored at least one goal in 18 of their last 19 games, while Victory have seen a total of 27 goals in their last six outings. As mentioned, the Jets stunned Victory with a 3-0 win at McDonald Jones Stadium back in Round 18, which was the only previous meeting between the teams this season.

Victory are in decent form heading into the finals and they certainly won't fear any club in the top six as they chase Grand Final glory over the coming month.

Three wins in their last four games have propelled Victory into fifth spot on the ladder and with a chance at finishing in the top four if other results go their way this weekend.

Attack hasn't been an issue for Victory over the last month or so - they've defeated Adelaide 5-3 and Wellington 3-2, while their most-recent clash last week resulted in a 2-1 triumph over Macarthur.

Overall, it's been a solid season for the Jets, who put together the club's longest unbeaten streak (seven games) earlier in the campaign and are confirmed to finish in ninth spot.

Rob Stanton has done a terrific job with limited resources and an extremely inexperienced squad, but unfortunately he will manage his last game as Jets head coach after announcing he would be moving on at season's end.

After seeing their slim finals chances evaporate after blowing a 2-0 lead over Sydney FC, the Jets were flat in a 1-0 defeat at home to the Wanderers last week.
