Wests Tigers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL Round 11 Tips - Time to back the Home Dog trends
In the Round 11 clash of the 2025 NRL season, the Wests Tigers are poised for victory against South Sydney Rabbitohs, despite being slight underdogs. The Tigers, confident after recent wins, aim to exploit Souths' vulnerabilities in run metres and opposition points. Souths struggle with defensive issues and player absences but display promising attacking prowess led by standout player, Latrell Mitchell. Betting suggests taking Wests on the moneyline or considering a draw, while Alex Johnston remains a safe bet for scoring opportunities.

The Home Dog is covering at 62.5% so far this season, the Tigers are 2-0 in that spot already while going 1-1 straight up in those matchups. They were embarrassed by the Storm last weekend and failed to cross for a try for the first time in 42 matches. They have though been averaging 23 pts per game prior to that which says they have the skill in them to produce points.
Souths have so far this year allowed their opponents to march up the field almost at will and put points on the scoreboard. They rank last in opposition Run Metres and rank 13th in opposition points which Wests have been shown to exploit against teams that are weaker in these metrics.
It is likely to be a close game and from my perspective Wests have more players that are able to break a game open on one play to seal a victory than Souths do, but that guy is also Latrell Mitchell.
Take Wests to win on the moneyline, a draw could also be on the cards so why not have a flutter there. Any time you get Alex Johnston to score at $1.80 or better you need to take it.
- Home Underdogs are covering at a 62.5% rate this year, the Tigers are 2-0 ATS in this spot in 2025.
- Wests have covered in 5 of their last 8 games as Underdogs at Campbelltown Stadium.
- South Sydney allow the most Run Metres and the 5th most Points to opponents this season.
- Wests have allowed the first try in 3 of their last 4 games.
- Alex Johnston has scored 5 tries in his last 2 games against the Tigers.
- In 7 of the 10 games where Johnston has scored a try against Wests, he has gone on to score multiple times.
Head to Head
Souths own the recent head to head record against Wests 9-3 but it was the Tigers who tasted success last with an 18-16 win in their Round 24 matchup last season.
The Under/Over is split evenly at 6-6 but the Under has hit in 3 of the last 4 clashes. The Winning margin has been 13+ in 4 of the last 5 but it too is an even 6-6 since the start of the 2019 season.
The Tigers are slightly ahead 7-5 in the ATS record, the entered all 12 games since 2019 as Underdogs.

The Wests Tigers were absolutely humiliated by Melbourne last weekend 64-0 with the Tigers lucky it didn’t hit 70 (or more). After starting the year allowing just 15 points per game to their opponents through their first 4 matches, the Tigers have fallen off a cliff defensively, allowing 33 pts per game in their last 6 and that average is including just 4 points to the Knights.
Wests have still won 5 games to date which equals their highest rd 10 win total since 2020 and should be seen as a positive move in the right direction. Whilst they failed to put any points past Melbourne, their attack has improved vastly this year with the new additions to the line up.
Terrell May, Jarome Luai, Sunia Turuva amongst others are all helping change the mentality and culture of this club. It is naive to think it will happen quicker and that the Tigers will make the 8 this year but the improvements are there.

The Rabbitohs, or should we just say Latrell Mitchell, had a stunning win over the Brisbane Broncos last weekend with a massive 48m, 2pt field goal to seal the deal before a try on the siren extended the margin.
Souths have struggled with injuries and suspensions all season long and are still without 4 players from their backline, 3 of them starters. They were confident though in their attack against the Broncos despite being 14-0 down at the break.
Defensively they are the team that allows the most Run Metres to their opposition per game and have also given up the 5th most points but as they start to regain their troops, the structures are returning and the precision is there.
