The Roosters have navigated the Origin period very well lately - they've won eight of their last 13 such games, including a dominant 42-16 victory over the Sharks (who were full strength) back in Round 12.
Couple that with a strong record over the Knights and I think the Roosters are primed to pick up the two points here. The Chooks have won 17 of their last 20 meetings with Newcastle and I'm going to need to see a lot more from the Knights before I read too much into their incredible comeback triumph over Manly last week.
Once again, the Knights were kept scoreless in the opening half (that's happened in three of their last four games) and while they deserve credit for digging in and responding to the half-time boos from the home crowd, Manly are prone to concentration lapses and collapses, so we'll see what happens over the next month or so. But right now, the Roosters have proven to be a much superior side throughout 2025 - and also look for Daniel Tupou to continue his prolific try-scoring form against Newcastle.
- Roosters have won 17 of the last 20 meetings between the teams
- Roosters have won eight of their last 13 games during the Origin period
- Knights have been kept to nil in the 1st half in three of their last four games
- All five of the Roosters' wins in 2025 have covered a -5.5 line
- Seven of the Knights' eight defeats in 2025 have failed to cover a +5.5 line
- Daniel Tupou has scored 13 tries in his last 14 games vs Knights & has three tries in his last two games
Head To Head
As mentioned, the Roosters have absolutely dominated the Knights over the last decade or so, winning 17 of the last 20 encounters - although their most-recent clash in Round 6 last year was a close one, with Trent Robinson's side edging it 22-20.

The Knights have been a tough watch all season, but at least they've given their fans something to cheer about over the last few weeks.
After losing seven of eight matches, the Knights have now won two of their last three - including last week's memorable 26-24 comeback victory in golden point against Manly at home.
Newcastle were trailing 16-0 at halftime amid a chorus of boos at McDonald Jones Stadium, but four second-half tries - including another double to Fletcher Sharpe - saw them draw level before Kalyn Ponga crossed for the match-winner in extra-time.
With that win and the close nature of the competition this season, the Knights are incredibly just two points adrift of the top eight.

After leaking 50 points in the opening round and losing four of their first five games, the Roosters have turned things around and look like genuine top eight chances coming into this clash.
The Roosters have won three of their last five games, including a big 42-16 victory over the Sharks without their Origin stars in Round 12.
Unfortunately, the Chooks couldn't back that win up over the high-flying Raiders the following week, giving up a half-time lead to fall 26-24.
Fresh off the bye last week, the Roosters know this is an excellent chance to break into the top eight.

Verdict
The Knights have been poor all season and one good half last week doesn't change much.
The Roosters are used to winning without their Origin stars, while Daniel Tupou is tipped for another four-pointer against the Knights.
