Warwick Farm hosts Wednesday's Sydney metropolitan meeting on October 28, with a competitive midweek program featuring several lightly raced gallopers looking to progress through the grades.

The opening maiden brings together some promising three-year-olds, while the remaining races offer opportunities for established performers to return to winning form, including a few runners with excuses for their recent defeats.

Our Daily Racing Multi brings together leading selections from multiple programs.

Warwick Farm Tips October 28

Asahi Super Dry Plate Tips (Race 1)

Warwick Farm Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 13 The Roaring Sun

A big, powerful colt by The Autumn Sun, The Roaring Sun made an immediate impression on debut at Warwick Farm on April 1, overcoming a slow getaway to charge home from the rear over 1300m and finish a narrow second behind Seraphox.

The Chris Waller-trained youngster looked the winner at one stage, but Seraphox enjoyed a more favourable passage and capitalised, with that form subsequently strengthened by two stakes placings from the winner and several other runners emerging from the race to score.

Spelled following that debut, he returned at Kembla Grange on October 10 after winning a Rosehill trial eight days earlier, and although overracing towards the rear in a slowly run contest, he finished strongly for third behind Graffiti Tycoon.

His closing sectionals were the standout feature of that performance, recording the fastest final 600m and 400m of the entire Kembla Grange meeting, while a quiet Randwick trial on October 23 has provided another opportunity to sharpen up ahead of Wednesday.

There are still a few rough edges to iron out, but The Roaring Sun clearly possesses considerable ability, and with the additional 100m likely to suit a colt who should eventually appreciate longer distances, he has the upside to make his presence felt in a competitive opening maiden.

Ranvet Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Warwick Farm Best Bet - Race 3 No. 5 Komodo Dragon

Still relatively lightly raced for a five-year-old, Komodo Dragon has compiled an impressive record of three wins and five placings from ten starts, with the John O'Shea and Tom Charlton-trained gelding looking well placed to bounce back in Wednesday's Benchmark 78.

The son of Hellbent was particularly impressive when scoring second-up over 1250m on the Randwick-Kensington circuit, controlling proceedings under Zac Lloyd before drawing clear, and that rider returns fourth-up with the gelding carrying 1kg less despite a senior jockey replacing an apprentice.

His subsequent fourth at Eagle Farm on October 3 was disappointing given market expectations, but he settled further back than anticipated and never found his preferred rhythm, while the 1400m hit-out should nevertheless provide a useful fitness platform.

There is plenty of substance to his earlier form, including successive victories over 1400m during his first preparation, two metropolitan placings and a competitive effort at Listed level at Flemington in November 2024.

Lloyd is striking at better than 28% for the O'Shea and Charlton stable this season, and with barrier one providing an opportunity to settle closer, Komodo Dragon gets his chance to atone in a midweek contest that appears well within his capabilities.

Warwick Farm Favourite - Race 4 No. 3 Scenic Point

Few horses make a more striking start to their careers than Scenic Point, who demolished her rivals on debut at Pakenham in March 2025 before graduating immediately to Listed company and winning the Redoute's Choice Stakes at Caulfield.

The daughter of Written Tycoon failed to build on that early promise during her three-year-old season, however, prompting a move from the Lindsay Park operation to Joe Pride's Sydney stable, which has an excellent reputation for rejuvenating tried horses.

Her preparation for the new yard began with two encouraging August trial victories, and although strongly supported when resuming at Randwick on September 5, she appeared in need of the outing after leading and weakening late.

There was more to like about her second-up appearance on the Kensington circuit on October 7, when she carried 60kg and fought on strongly for a narrow second despite conceding 2.5kg to the winner, with her work through and beyond the line suggesting she was approaching peak fitness.

Having gone more than four weeks between her first two appearances this preparation, Scenic Point should now be approaching peak fitness third-up, and although she carries 60.5kg, the return to 1100m is particularly appealing given both previous victories came over this distance in Victoria.

TAB Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 6 No. 12 World Alliance

Matthew Smith has made an excellent start to the racing season, preparing 27 winners since the beginning of August, and the Warwick Farm trainer now has an opportunity to revive the fortunes of World Alliance with blinkers applied for the first time.

The capable seven-year-old has been out of the winner's stall for some time, but his recent results offer several excuses, including an unsuccessful attempt over 1400m on September 26 when he failed to finish off after rising beyond his preferred sprinting distance.

His form earlier in the year was more encouraging, with placings at Gosford and Canterbury, the latter coming on June 8 when he worked home from the rear of a 14-runner Benchmark 88 after drawing wide, while he was also far from disgraced in stronger company during the winter.

An interrupted passage in the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton in July and unsuitable race patterns during subsequent Rosehill appearances have made it difficult for the son of Rubick to find his best, but he can produce a sharp finish when conditions allow.

The return to 1200m, a freshen-up and an anticipated genuine tempo all appeal, while Chad Schofield takes the ride after recording three winners at Warwick Farm last Wednesday, making World Alliance an interesting value chance.
